Congresswoman Giffords' Name On Sarah Palin Target List

Palinmap
While we still don't know much about the motives of the alleged 22-year-old gunman involved in today's tragic shooting, Gabrielle Giffords' name was included on a target list put together by Sarah Palin. This list focused on ousting from office 20 members of Congress in Republican districts who voted for President Obama's health care reform bill calling for them to be replaced "with good conservatives. As you can see, sniper scope graphics blanket the "Take Back the 20" map.

Read about Palin's campaign on her Facebook page.

Giffords herself found the crosshairs disturbing. She was interviewed on MSNBC last year after her office was vandalised. Said the Congresswoman at the time, "We're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but, the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted, has the crosshairs of a gunsight over our district. When people do that, they've got to realize there's consequences to that action."

After today's tragic events, it's quite eerie to hear Giffords say that she's "not fearful" for her safety after having her office attacked. Watch, AFTER THE JUMP.

If you're literate in English grammar then you know English grammar. You don't know English grammar. Thus, you're not literate in English grammar. Most of the teachers and students at Pima Community College are illiterate.

If I'm thinking of adding the 1 new symbol and number to the current alphabet and number system then I'm thinking of creating 1 new symbol and number to the current alphabet and number system. I'm thinking of adding the 1 new symbol and number to the current alphabet and number system. Thus, I'm thinking of creating 1 new symbol and number to the current alphabet and number system. You control the grammar!

Don't be scared to know you can't find the location of a subject: Most students can't locate a subject! Most people know all the subjects are for mind control and brainwash! The students are unconstitutionally paying for free education! The students are attending a torture facility! You know the teachers are con artists?

You now know - every college's unconstitutional crime! You shouldn't pay unconstitutional money for free speech! Don't trust the current government, listener!

  4. They're already trying to blame liberals for the shooting. Here's a comment made on KGUN (talk about inappropriate) the ABC affiliate in Tuscon.

    "ByteRider
I have a hard time giving a damn when a judge or politician gets hit. For the most part, they bring this on themselves. What I am ticked about is the 9 yo child that was killed. For that, and that alone, the 22-year old kid should be tied, burned, shot, hung, and buried alive.

I'm going to go out on a limb.. but I think this is just the beginning of a long line of liberal loons killing people [eg, every presidential assassination in this country was done by a Dem, MLK was even killed by a Dem]."

You see? It's the abuser's defense. "You made this happen. It's all your fault, not mine." Scum.

  5. Why did Palin remove "Don't retreat...just reload" from her FB wall minutes after the shooting?

  6. Y'know, Ron, the 2nd Amendment don't care which side of the fence you're on. And I'm from Texas; I know how to shoot a pistol. I learned the day after a redneck at my high school called me a faggot, and a Jewish friend who was consistently referred to as a "Christ Killer" was the one who taught me. His comment, "Pacifist don't mean suicidal."

Maybe it's time we Liberals stopped trying to be nice and started kicking ass right back at scum like you. Apparently, that's all you're willing to accept in the way of an argument.

  7. Jared Loughner's politics is a jumble of barely coherent nonsense, and mix of left and primarily libertarian views, again mostly confused and really schizophrenia in nature. He is seriously MENTALLY ILL, judging by his internet postings.

    Posted by: ratbastard | Jan 8, 2011 5:29:49 PM

  8. Well, Ratbastard, he keeps talking about "new" things in a disdainful way. I took "new" to equal progressivism. Also, he was scornful of adjustments to the Constitution. That, too, is a stance usually held by conservatives.

    @Rodney,

Loughner is MENTALLY ILL; probably undiagnosed, untreated schizophrenic, or he stopped taking his meds. What's hard for some people to understand about this? In a country of over 300 million people, there are plenty of potentially violent, seriously mentally ill people, sociopaths and psychopaths. Politics and ideology are not the primary motivating factors for such people, they are instruments for their mental illness or psychopathy. 'Radical' movements of all kinds are filled with such people for this very reason. These movements are convenient outlets for the psychopaths, sociopaths, or mentally ill persons rage.

    Posted by: ratbastard | Jan 8, 2011 5:54:05 PM

  11. Aren't all criminals crazy to you? It's always a mental health issue, or some other built in excuse with a healthy dose of victim blaming, shot through with an utterly banal and patently invalid justification of the status quo, or screed against some absurd notion of liberalism espoused by the most uneducated and simple minds in the blogosphere. But hey, even a broke clock is right twice a day. Because he's clearly chemically disturbed (dunno if it's schizophrenia, and neither do you; you aren't qualified to make such a diagnosis), and adding a political dimension (though in light of it being tea party related would be...one) to explain this guy's motivation makes about as much sense as blaming videogames and lyrics for violent behavior. It's something folks do to make sense of evil behaviors that even if you were to ask the perpetrator (everything has its place in the story), wouldn't have the slightest notion...about why. There is no satisfying resolution to this tragedy found in any explanation you will see propounded to make you feel like everything is going to be okay.

  12. @Tank,

No indeed, I'm not a mental health professional, and I'm just expressing MY OPINION, like you are expressing yours.

BTW: There's a big difference between someone afflicted with a serious mental illness [like schizophrenia or major depression] and a psychopath, sociopath, or some other antisocial personality disorder. Psychos, etc., know the difference between right and wrong, they just don't care and are completely self absorbed, lacking empathy or appropriate connections with other humans because of their condition.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

According to his YouTube page, Loughner graduated from Mountain View High School and attended Northwest Aztec Middle College and Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona.
Catie Parker claims to have been in a band with Loughner, as well as his high school and college classmate. In a Twitter exchange with Anthony De Rosa, she said that when she knew Loughner he was a radical liberal, a "loner" and "very philosophical:
"He was a political radical and met Giffords once before in '07, asked her a question and he told me she was 'stupid and unintelligent.' He was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix, The Doors, Anti-Flag.... As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal and oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."

Parker says Loughner dropped out of school after getting alcohol poisoning in '06.

  13. Actually...sociopathology is no longer considered relevant in diagnosing pathology by mental health professionals. But, if you were to be accurate, sociopaths "know" (how is that possible?) the difference between what is considered right and wrong by others, but are aloof from such concerns. They can learn to mimic statistical normalcy while concealing their detachment from emotional involvement, or ability to empathize--hide the antisocial states and inclinations (psychopaths generally can't hide out as well). They do, however, cultivate emotional attachments to the darndest things...

Psychopathology (once again, the distinction is no longer observed...and is quite old fashioned terminology), is the inability to distinguish between fact and fantasy, among other things.

Most schizophrenics aren't violent, however. No satisfying resolution--except at the level of sufficient reason, or one billiard ball striking another, transforming potential into actual.

    Posted by: TANK | Jan 8, 2011 6:34:21 PM

  14. Yes Tank, I believe the term de jour is 'Anti-Social Personality Disorders'. A lot of the study of psychology is of course a big crock.

And I'm aware schizophrenics are not violent [as long as they're being treated and taking their meds!]

    Posted by: ratbastard | Jan 8, 2011 6:42:22 PM

  15. A lot of it is a crock, especially at the level of social workers, psychology students and "therapists". But abnormal psychology is, though personally uninteresting, a very real phenomenon with classifications that do, in fact, pick people out...and it is useful.

No, even untreated. Most aren't violent, period. If one is schizophrenic and untreated, one's much more likely to do harm to oneself than others.

  19. My God, people, a congresswoman was shot along with several others and people died! Get over your distorted ideology have has respect. I don't care what political party you may be a member of, pointing fingers and blaming people other than the shooter is premature and IMMATURE! Now, I am no fan of Palin, but blaming her for this is plain wrong. If a republican had been shot, would you be so quick to point out all the things said by democrats that could incite someone?
Let's just focus on praying for those who have been harmed and hoping the congresswoman makes a speedy recovery.

  20. justin, it's clear to me that you're an operative of the radical right wing. How can anyone not see this as the logical entailment of Palin's violent hate speech? There is only one person to blame, and it's sarah palin...and other people who aren't witches or anything else you may think that they are. And even if sarah palin and people who aren't witches or anything else you may have been told that they are aren't to blame, and it's asinine to suggest...it's entertainment...and you will not get into the way of the people's entertainment...or else...who knows...you might wind up in the arena.

  21. Sarah Palin is INDIRECTLY responsible. She and others who have some position of authority or media attention, no matter what political affiliation, should know that words, displays, etc., have an effect on some people. Palin, using gun crosshairs as a means of stressing (targeting) her position is irresponsible. Hopefully, she will have to answer to the people about her political ignorance. Even Congresswoman Giffords mentioned it in an interview on MSNBC a few months back...

"For example, we're on Sarah Palin's targeted list, but the thing is, that the way that she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have to realize that there are consequences to that action," Giffords said.

I watched a bit of FOX News coverage on this. Their main stance was for people not to jump to political conclusions on this. In other words, don't blame us, Republican's, Tea Partiers or overall conservatives. Why would they take (jump to) that stance unless they know they are part of the overall blame of what is going on with these nut cases!!!

    Posted by: CB | Jan 8, 2011 7:43:27 PM

  22. CB:

Moonbat ideology is also responsible for A LOT of violence. Do care equally about that, as you are concerned about violent wingnut ideology?
