Watch: Opening Scene of 'Grey's Anatomy' Musical Episode

Greys

Haven't tuned in to Grey's Anatomy for a long, long time, though I might go back to check out the musical episode they have coming up this week, in which most of the characters sing — which i guess is why they're doing it!

Watch the opening scene (major SPOILERS obviously), AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Hmmm. Not what I was expecting. That was disturbing.

  3. Not much of a spoiler. Unfortunately TV today ruins their own cliffhangers by ending one episode (like last night's) with suspense and two minutes later on the previews for the next week's episode, they tell you exactly what happens. I thought this last night after watching Grey's when the episode ended with them clearly hitting something and you know she doesn't have her seatbelt on. And then boom a minute later on the previews for next week, they show everything that happens.

  4. I lost interest in Grey's Anatomy after they had that whole will-Meredith-die-after-almost-drowning story arc, but I'm a total sucker for musical episodes, contrived as they may be. Hell, I'm just a sucker for musicals.

  6. While this makes no sense to me... Sara Ramirez is AMAZING. If you saw her on Broadway in Spamalot, you'd be really excited to see her sing. In fact, the President of ABC (or some other major person) offered her a spot on any ABC show after seeing her in that role.

  7. Dastius is right, very disturbing, especially juxtaposed with music. I'll definitely be tuning back in!

  8. I have never seen this show, but this might be my first episode.
Here, for your entertainment and amusement, is Sara Ramirez's Tony-winning performance of "Find Your Grail":

  9. @AUSTIN Same here! Meredith has always been my LEAST favorite character. When she "died" I was practically over-joyed. But they brought her back to life and I just couldn't handle that kind of disappointment.

  10. Aside from the eight bars at the end of that clip, where was the singing, exactly?

  11. I've been off stage for far too long/
    It's ages since I've had a song.

LOVED her in Spamalot. She needs to drop this crappy show and go back to musical theatre.

  12. While this new rejuvenated Grey's is becoming better & better (after the ugh-liness of the 4th & 5th season), I still think that the original Grey's is still the best, with George & Addison & Izzie, even Burke.

  13. I had given up on Grey's, though I lived through all the Izzie craziness, but when I heard such good things about the mass shooting finale, I watched it. While I had no investment into some of the character's killed, it was, quite seriously, the most riveting two hours of television I have seen in a long time. I've been hooked and happy since then. While I was I bit worried about the musical episode, I think it is going to be amazing in context. I'm really looking forward to it.
