Watch: Beyoncé's 'Run The World (Girls)' Video

A well-dressed army of girls run the world in Beyoncé's new video, which debuted last night on American Idol. The clip is directed by Francis Lawrence.

  1. I love GAGA but wish the choreography in her videos and live performances were as strong and creative as it is in this video.

This song is very average, but the energy and fierceness of the video overshadow that.

    Beyonce=Fierce Warrior Goddess!

  2. I saw the video. LOVED! Love the song, Love the video, Love the Post-Apocalyptic African Safari them, Love all her outfits especially the mirror diamond dress and shoes! Love the hyenas, love the two African back up dancers in the beginning, Love her bodacious booty shaking, Love the hair flipping, and LOVE the choreography.

The only thing that bumped me was the lack of dark-skinned females? That would be my only complaint, but besides that, WATCHED THE VIDEO OVER AND OVER! You go, B!

  4. Wow...That's just plain awful all the way around. It's a horrible video for a horrible song. Yuck!

  5. Imagine the same song, substituting "men" for "girls." It instantly becomes threatening, vicious, and oppressive, inspiring thoughts of protests and boycotts. (As is, it's just inane poetry being forced through a popcorn popper.)

Sigh... Run the world Beyoncé... And buy your marked-up-ten-times $20,000/year hair from poor girls and women on the other side of the planet, suckered by male-dominated religion into giving it away for free.

  7. Full disclosure: Beyoncé apologist here.

People fail to understand that her mother is of Louisiana French Creole ancestry and her skin is very light. Exhibit A:

Beyoncé's ALWAYS been light-skinned like that, and as a previous commenter noted, black people who're not extremely dark-skinned can get tan and get lighter skin depending on conditions as well (I'm black and my skin fluctuates, e.g. summer vs. winter).

As for the video: you're all just jealous because you can't dance like that ;). This beat is CRAZY.

  8. Who are those idiots who LOVED this random collection of irritating noises that is supposed to be a "song"? Are you all deaf? You stupid queens with no taste for music are the reason why the gay bars went from playing the best music out there (think Deborah Cox and Amber) to this schlock (to the right, to the left, to the yuk) I hope this "urban" marching band jumpy trend that the 12 year olds these days love so much dies out soon!

  9. Am I the only one who kept wishing the hyenas Beyonce was chained to in one scene would turn around and devour her?

What an awful thing to say. I guess it's no different than the "Kill The Gays" campaign is it...idiot?

  11. Actually, I rather liked this. I thought her "Sasha Fierce" album was poorer than her first two solo projects, with only a couple of good tunes on it (Halo, especially), but this is, while different than anything she's done Bey-fore (sorry, couldn't resist), is pretty good to my eyes and ears.

  12. Nice new MIA tune remixed by Major Lazer.

Wait, that was Beyonce? What what? If she's going for a new sound, she needs to find her own, not borrow so obviously from other current artists.

  13. I liked this song better when it was by Major Lazer.
