GOProud Executive Director Jimmy LaSalvia Meets with Head of CPAC Al Cardenas Over Group's Rejection

CPAC President Al Cardenas reportedly took a meeting with the head of gay conservative group GOProud, which it dumped from this year's annual conference.

Lasalvia Reports Ben Smith at Politico:

Cardenas met today, I'm told, with the executive director of the gay conservative group GOProud, Jimmy LaSalvia. It was, a person briefed on the event said, "not a good meeting." The representatives of GOProud were furious to learn from WorldNetDaily and the Daily Caller that they'd been dropped from the organization, and were also none-too-thrilled about Cardenas's wife's recent comments on the subject.

Meanwhile, Smith adds, there's a boycott brewing.

More on the GOProud rejection from Chris Johnson at the Washington Blade.

  1. If Breitbart is leading the boycott, I'm tempted to purchase a CPAC registration this year just to support anyone Breitbart doesn't like.

  2. Bwaaaaaah!

This just goes to prove that, if you're gay, you can't hate gays enough or hate liberals enough or bash gay liberals enough to make the base of the Republican Party think of you as anything but disgusting, depraved, dangerous faggots.

I wonder if Ann Coulter is going to speak up for her "friends" at GOProud?

Not gonna hold my breath, and neither should anyone at GOProud.

  4. Wow.. And he tried so hard to push the whole guns agenda that they love. Sucks to have sold out you own community for nothing....

  5. It's bad enough when someone is a republican, and it's even worse when you're a gay republican.

  6. Every moment they spend fighting each other is a moment we get to be free of them both, so I'm all for it.

  7. They stand against everything he is and LaSalvia is wrong in thinking they stand for anything else. Smaller government, fiscal responsibility, self determination? Nope. Actions speak louder than words.

I don't normally pity anyone, but here it is, LaSalvia.

  8. ... meanwhile, porky pig not allowed at the 'its the other white meat' convention

  9. I'm trying to decide which is more savory...watching CPAC fall into civil war because gays had a booth last year, or watching GOProud snubbed by the very Ol' Mastahs they play Uncle Tom to.

  10. Gay Republicans are oxymorons

  11. No, the association of fascist rabbis cannot be at a Nazi convention. Big surprise. This is just not news, nor is it relevant. GOProud is a strange joke. I think it's performance art.

  12. I wonder: did Jimmy tell Al all about the hot guys who knocked him off his tricycle?

  13. There's a boycott brewing??? What they're going to boycott a convention they aren't invited to? Maybe they can set up a table across the street and hand out rainbow t-shirts. Go Proud and Go Home.

  14. Let's see if LaSalvia has the stuff to make this a real battle- or will he walk away meekly and try again next year? And let's not leave porky pig Diana out of it either; this could be a real cat fight.

  15. The boycott is by Roger L. Simon and Andrew Breitbart who support GOProud.

  16. Jimmy, they’re just not that into you.

  17. I just can't help but to grin a little. The ONLY thing GOProud cares about is this stupid annual conference -- they don't care about a single gay issue. Every year they continue to move rightward JUST to make sure they get to go to next year's CPAC. They moved even harder right this year due to last year's controversy and what did they get in return? Application DENIED!

And now they're mad as hornets and threatening everyone like they're Malificent from Sleeping Beauty bruised about not being invited to the party.

I know I should defend them against the forces of the extreme right and yada yada yada... but c'mon, they made their beds right? And the best part is -- they can't twist this and accuse the "gay left" -- the only talking point they have!

  18. Oh what beautiful and heartfelt words from Cardenas' wife. She thinks gays have a disease and a disability and are a grave threat to society. One can practically feel the outright hatred seething off her FB page. This is the true face of the republican party. They have declared war against every gay person in America, and make no mistake about it. They mean what they say.

  19. mommy they don't want me to play with them. they only wanted my toys (votes and money). now they told me to get lost. too bad goproud you live and learn the repuks will always hate no matter what.

  20. In some contexts, the word "conservative" might mean less government control over specific sectors of the economy. The scum at CPAC are using the word "conservative" to mean Jesus-worshiping asswipes who want to impose their sexual taboos on the general population. Will the Xtians please stop misusing the word "conservative" and crawl back under their flat rock?

Oh, I forgot to give the Xtians their constitutional due. Adherence to religious hate is the ultimate choice. That choice is protected by the U.S. Constitution; therefore, the choice of a "straight-but-not-narrow" man to try out a same-sex relationship is also protected by the Constitution. Duh.

If this keeps up, the patience of the American nation will be exhausted, and public opinion will turn toward the survival of endangered species of big cats. A simple plea for the dwindling number of big cats in the world ecosystem:

"Not enough lions, too many Christians."

  21. Can you say "Theater of the Absurd: Part 2"? GOProud was so delusional to think that by cozying up to Michele Bachman in order for her to "change" her viewpoint of the LBGT community. HAHAHA!!!
    Are you kidding?
Their is no room in CPAC or for that matter the conservative movement as a whole for any gay person to have their voice heard.
They want our votes but they also want: 1) You not to promote or pass any agenda that is favorable to equality and human rights for the LGBT community. 2) Pretend you do not exist or make you invisible in their movement. (Ex. Don't say gay bill, removal of gay groups within CPAC, DOMA, almost every single Republican candidate... oh wait, Fred Karger, LOL... wait that's right they want him to be invisible too.) 3) Promote the notion that LGBT should go back into the closet... LMFAO.

GOProud, Log Cabin, their is no room for you in the conservative movement... What does one need to tell you for you to get the message loud and clear?

As a bisexual, I'm a Democrat and I will gladly stick with the movement that has represented my cause for equality, human rights, and human dignity.

  24. Javier summed it up pretty well. Hey GoProud and Log Cabin guys, did you really think the GOP was going to accept you. They don't want you! They think you're freaks!

    Geez...

  25. Awww... too bad that the queen with the 90's lesbian haircut is being rejected by the people he's been sucking up to for years. Maybe he and the rest of his merry band of flaming idiots can find another dry teat to suckle from...
