Brandon Flowers Touts Membership in the Mormon Church: VIDEO

Flowers

Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, who has said that many of his heroes are gay men but whose positions on gay rights have never (at least not recently, to my knowledge) been clearly expressed, has recorded a video touting his membership in the Church of Latter Day Saints. If you're gay and a fan of Flowers' music, it's hard not to feel slighty disillusioned by it.

"My name is Brandon Flowers. I'm a father. I'm a husband. And I'm a Mormon."

  1. I think Brandon Flowers standing by his faith and religion is admirable. We've used him as an example of not being two-faced in our family home evening lessons.

  2. Interesting how he's launching The Killers new album in time for election. I don't see how Brandon Flowers will still be able to get away with ripping off gay artists and then giving support and promotion to the church that is behind every anti-equality movement in the US. I appreciate Towleroad's persistence in interviews with him. BF tries to play the "I'm in the middle" card and it's cowardly.

  4. if any of you actually knew anything about him you'd realize that he is actually very liberal. He supported obama in the 2008 elections and played benefit concerts for him. The reason he did not speak out on his positions for this election is because he did not want to be banned from his church for going against romney. He refused to support romney in this election. Now his view on gay rights and what not is not perfect but it's farrrrr better than the right wing conservative and mormon view.
