Anti-Gay NJ Teacher Viki Knox Gives Silent Interview: VIDEO

CBS New York went to the home of anti-gay NJ teacher Viki Knox and her husband Gene spoke out in her defense.

Said Knox's husband: "The ones that are vilifying her, if they knew her, they would not. They would not do that or say that...Everybody's entitled to an opinion...They can persecute her, but they can't prosecute her."

Viki Knox remained silent. Which is funny, because she had so much to say on Facebook.

  1. Regarding her not being prosecuted, Gene's got some harsh lessons coming his way.

  2. Why is this bigot getting a cent from my tax dollars?!

  3. All these candles on her table. Is she into voodoo?

  4. I feel the same way about her gluttony as she does about my gayness.

  5. I can't imagine people saying that a white teacher who wrote on their FB page how much they don't like interracial relationships because blacks are subhuman etc, would say "oh it's just free speech". Yes we have free speech but it's subject to others free speech against it. And as a black American I'm sick of people saying that race and sexuality are different so no comparison can be made. Discrimination is discrimination and she needs to get the boot. I'm just really fed up with fellow blacks having this disgusting attitude.

  6. Oh, I see now SHE's the victim. Oh brother.

  7. And what if a student does harm to himself because of her public stance on homosexuality? Will she then be held accountable? I hope the school district realizes that teachers have to be at the bare minimum neutral, and the best supportive of students well being.

  8. Teachers are not paid for their opinions.

  9. What person in their right mind, in a public position, would write something like that on Facebook? Sounds to me either that a) she wanted media scrutiny or otherwise desperately craved attention or b) she wants to get fired?

  10. anyone who thinks that statements made on facebook or the internet are private are nuts.
hell now a days even phone conversations aren't private. you say something or post something it it is there for everyone to examine. you had better be ready for the consequences of the words.
if her hate speech was also spoken in the classroom if just makes the matters worse. her religion or politics has no place in the class. she is a public employee paid by tax dollars, which includes gay tax dollars.

    Posted by: walter | Oct 19, 2011 6:11:46 PM

  11. @andalusian dog: But you don't understand. All those hours she spends teaching and grading papers are taking away from time she could spend eating...!!

This vile woman took to a public forum to say evil, hate-filled things about students at her school. HUMAN BEINGS that deserve as much respect as she does. Actually, MORE. She is being vilified for being a horrible person, a bigot, and a complete and total idiot. Who cannot string together three words into a coherent sentence and should NOT be employed as a teacher in any jurisdiction.

And for the record, the fat c!nt can kiss my gay ass and then burn in Hell, which she will when she does go to her final Judgment and finds out that her God doesn't like hate-filled fat bitches.

  12. If even one of her students is a 'Facebook friend' then there is absolutely no claim to private speech. Even if none of her students are "friends" her remarks are still public. No business permits an employee to make public statements against the interests of the business -- one would get fired in a flash. This is no different. The woman needs to be fired.

  13. When i know i did nothing wrong no one can keep my mouth shut. This ignorant homphobe is vile. She can go get a job at her temple and stay out of any secular public employment. She has no legal standing that will hold up in court.

  14. @ Lance - The only thing keeping White Racist teachers from putting crap up like that on their Facebook page is that those same White Racists are afraid of Black people. End of story. NO ONE in this country is afraid of GAYS, so they say and do all kinds of evil stuff. The only reason they don't do more is because the GAYS will take you to court, and people love their money above everything else (religion, morals, etc).

I personally have a right to fly to Africa and go on safari without a guide on foot at night. But, when I get torn limb from limb by the lions and such, can I really have my husband sit there and point fingers at the lions? No... not really. The only positive thing about the clip above is she's keeping her fat mouth shut!

  15. If she had any legal defense NJEA, the teachers Union, would be louder than everyone. Not a word. She is not worthy of being a teacher. I was told she was a special education teacher as well. Imagine the crap this woman says in front of her students?

    Posted by: ewe | Oct 19, 2011 6:21:52 PM

  16. The same book she uses to villify gay people is the same book that was used for centuries to keep her own people enslaved.

    Posted by: scollingsworth | Oct 19, 2011 6:25:13 PM

  17. The issue is whether or not she can keep her job not whether or not she can say the bigoted disgraceful ignorant comments that came out of her feeble mind. She can be prosecuted if kept employed by any lgbt employee forced to work with her or any parent of any student that doesn't want that horrid villian in or around their childs mind.

    Posted by: ewe | Oct 19, 2011 6:29:24 PM

  18. It's hard to believe that she hasn't been spewing this kind of venom to her students while at work. Bigoted, religious zealots like her, especially when they're not very bright, are rarely able to contain their evangelical excesses. Hopefully some students will come forward with evidence.

  19. And, as usual, as vile as this woman is, the worst thing Towleroad commenters can say about her is that she's fat. Because they don't know and certainly don't love a single fat human being.

Gay male culture: where you can be a mean girl in 7th grade forever.

    Posted by: ohplease | Oct 19, 2011 6:39:28 PM

  20. @OHPLEASE: Not everyone, and not even a majority of the commenters, said that.

In general: No one is trying to prosecute her, and she is the one persecuting. Why are right-wingers so Bizarro World?

  21. In NJ, this teacher's off-campus use of Facebook to spread anti-gay hatred causes outrage, as it should. Meanwhile, here in Fort Worth (the same district that responded to teacher Kristopher Franks' complaints of being harassed by students by investigating and reprimanding THE TEACHER, while ignoring the harassment and their own policies), Carter Riverside HS staff T. Victoria Martinez USED SCHOOL-WIDE DISTRICT EMAIL to spread a message that, after quoting a biblical anti-gay clobber passage, included these nuggets: "in our culture where homosexuality is becoming more and more acceptable, it concerns me that we may be encouraging students into a lifestyle that is unnatural," and "we are partakers of encouraging a lifestyle, which is an abomination unto the LORD." So far, little outrage, no news coverage, and not so much as a reminder to the school staff that district policies prohibit using the district-owned and -endorsed email to spread hate messages against gays or other groups.

  22. There is no excusing ignorance anymore. And when a husband speaks for his wife, who sits beside him, then what does this say of the wife? What does this say of the husband? What does this say of those who have been persecuted throughout history? These people were bullied when racism was in full force. They are no different than bigots and ignorant people of all times and all places. No excuses.

  23. Dear Ms Knox--Your bible also says that gluttony is a deadly sin. Look in the mirror hon, cuz you're guilty!

    Posted by: Chicklets | Oct 19, 2011 6:46:12 PM

  24. @ OHPLEASE -
I don't think this is about her weight, otherwise Melissa McCarthy and Chaz Bono would be vilified here too.

The point is she has a bigoted and judgmental opinion on homosexuals that she bases on the teachings of the bible; and myself and other posters here are pointing out the blatant hypocrisy in the fact that gluttony is a sin and this woman obviously enjoys a 2nd helping.

Maybe she should teach and preach some restraint!

  25. "The ones that are vilifying her, if they knew her, they would not."

Today is brought to you by the letter I. As in Interview, as in Irony.
