Dr. Conrad Murray Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter in Death of Michael Jackson: VIDEO

Dr. Conrad Murray was declared guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson for injecting the King of Pop with the surgical anesthetic propofol.

The L.A. Times:

The verdict against Dr. Conrad Murray comes after a jury of seven men and five women  deliberated for about nine hours over two days. The 58-year-old cardiologist, who was charged with the lowest possible homicide offense, faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison and a minimum sentence of probation.

Murray now also faces the probable loss of his medical license. California authorities already suspended his right to practice, but medical boards in Nevada and Texas agreed to wait to evaluate licenses he holds in their states until after the criminal case.

A crowd gathered outside the courtroom erupted after the verdict was read.

  1. My computer somehow turned on that group shot outside the courtroom. I had no idea where the noise was coming from.

    Then I scrolled down.

My god what a bunch of freaks. And I usually mean freak in a nice way. Not this time!

  2. A doctor who makes Michael's medical decisions is not a doctor that Michael would have ever employed. So while Dr. Murray bears some culpability for Michael Jackson's death, it is Michael Jackson who is ultimately to blame.

Michael Jackson was that very rare celebrity superstar that did not throw fits, or denigrate others, but he also ALWAYS got his way. Even when he worked with other celebrities, as quiet spoken as he was, orchestrated every thing, without ever raising his voice.

Who else could have made a music video with two of the most violent and notorious gangs in L.A.?

Had he taken care of himself, checked himself into a hospital instead of staging a comeback tour, went to the doctor rather than buy himself a doctor he would most likely be alive . . . but he always got his way.

I feel sorry for this poor idiot doctor, having to deal with all the freaks that call themselves Michael Jackson's fans (Jesus! Get a life!), who was starstruck, and awed by Michael's celebrity to the point of allowing Michael Jackson to manipulate him.

  3. It wasn't just giving him propofol; he also didn't have the right equipment, and didn't call 911 when he found Jackson not breathing. The verdict was very deserved, in my opinion.

  4. I'm sure Michael would be very proud of this rude, howling mob of assholes.

  5. Justice was served to the extent of California law. He breached his ethics as a medical doctor and it resulted in the death of his patient. Greedy, opportunistic, reckless, and taking advantage of another's vices.

  6. Murray probably deserves to lose his license, but I wouldn't recommend prison time. The whole thing was sad, but then again, most things dealing with Michael Jackson are. I just don't want those jackals that we know as The Jackson Family to feel "vindicated"--they won't be "vindicated" until they sue Conrad Murray in civil court for a few billion dollars to make up for the death of their sacred cash cow.

Michael Jackson was not St. Sebastian, or Jesus. (He also was not, despite his egomania, "the greatest talent who ever lived," though he was indeed talented--unfortunately, he wasted a lot of it the last 15 years.) He was also a deeply messed up man with a lot of demons that he tried to keep suppressed, and painting him as an "innocent" victim is not just a lie, it's idiocy. Let him rest, let his kids get the residuals for the next 70+ years, and let this hagiography end once and for all.

  8. I read this doctor closed his practice and patients were told he went to work for Michael Jackson, he had that printed on his business cards, and he had a salary of about 100,000 per month. What's pathetic is he would have probably joined the list of employees who ended up walking away for lack of payment eventually.

  9. Hopefully a few less doctors will debase themselves in this manner as a result, but I'm not holding my breath.
