NJ Assistant Principal Allegedly Took Nude Vids Of Students

Here's what appears to be another straight-aligned family man whose dysfunctions and misbehaviors are about to be press-ganged into anti-gay propaganda. Patrick Lott, 54, is the popular assistant principal at Bernardsville Middle School in Bernardsville, NJ. Until this week, he was also the assistant football coach at nearby Immaculata Catholic High School -- a position in which he was responsible for videotaping the school's football games.

Now, Mr. Lott has been arrested for surreptitiously videotaping his players in the high school's communal shower. Police, perhaps acting on a complaint from a student, obtained a warrant to search Mr. Lott's home on December 13th. There, they found videos of Lott's athletes in the buff. Lott was arrested last week, and his bail has been set at $500,000.

  1. Human capability for stupidity never ceases to amaze me. When in grown-ups, pathetic. But then, when in religious folks, almost just unavoidable.

  3. Wow, his daughter is a senior there, I can't imagine how horrible life will be for her now.

  4. Weird that some high schools still have communal showers.

  5. Could we please see the videos in order to form an informed view about the nature of the allegations?

  8. Do you think it's a little weird to want to see the tapes? He was arrested, he'll get his day in court and a jury of his peers will decide. Unless your on that jury you have no right to see it. Your going to have to base your judgement on the information given or don't make one.

  9. It's worth noting that this guy holds an official post in the Republican party. (Not that Democrats or independents or Libertarians can't do regrettable acts also, but there is, AGAIN, more than a little hypocrisy when, assuming the allegations are true, the perpetrator is an advocate of the party of "traditional American values," which include hate and bigotry.

  12. Typical of his sort. It would seem that these people calling us child molesters is projection. Either way, the bail is too low.

  13. Americans are such unsophisticated morons. Haven't you heard of irony and satire?

  14. (Snark alert). No, no, no. We're misunderstanding his motives. He was making the tapes just in case some of the boys were engaging in, you know, unnatural acts in violation of school rules and Catholic church teaching. So he could report it to the schools officials and the priests. So they could take corrective action before, you know, they choose to be gay. Yeah, yeah, that's why he did it. Sure. That's what he told himself.

  15. It disturbs me that there are request to see the video here. This is a violation of the students privacy and most likely the young men are younger than 18. I don't think it is appropriate even in jest to ask to see the video.

  16. I feel sorry for his family, especially his daughter. As for him, I got zip. Stupid, stupid, stupid man!

  17. I can just hear the anti-gay loonies coming out of the woodwork and the pedophilia slurs slamming all of us. They always seem to play down or ignore the fact that many of these perpetrators are married, means nothing to them just as long as they can get their anti-gay mantras aired.

  18. Just to be clear, the tapes were made at the Catholic high school (Immaculata -- Latin for virgin/clean!) not Bernardsville High, where he had only just started working. Oh, and get this, he had a policy of Requiring the players to shower after practice, and had for many years. As for being a Republican, the entire area is Republican, so it's essentially meaningless. Now, the fact the local diocese cooperated so quickly with police in this matter has both to do with the fact that he was not a priest and also because there were two prior pedophile incidents at the school, though nothing this scandalous. (A female coach was caught having an affair with a senior--she went to jail and something happened decades ago that isn't much talked about.)

  19. I don't believe any of the above comments about wanting to see the videos were 100% serious or meant to be hurtful.

But c'mon, we've all been 14 or 15 and had showers at school - and probably still have a load of those memories in our "wank bank" - it explains the amount of porn featuring jocks and sports kit and locker rooms.

  20. The tapes were for insurance purposes in case there was an accident and/or injury in the shower where a shower-user slipped and fell. This standard procedure at ALL Catholic high schools, and has been for years. You can ask any preist.

  21. Ah, yes. Another STRAIT, Heterosexual, Married, Catholic, Husband, Father, Teacher, photographing and watching NAKED Children taking showers.

  22. Can we just note, and disapprove, the judge giving him a half-million-dollar bail? This is outrageous, and just more evidence of the hysteria that surrounds all sexuality in this country, even New Jersey, where bails that heavy are usually reserved for accused killers who are real risks for flight from prosecution. A bail this heavy, and a wait of a week for a bail hearing, is a denial of basic rights.

    Posted by: Cookie | Dec 31, 2011 6:08:57 PM

  23. Cookie, your point about excessive bail might be taken more seriously if you didn't cloak it under the "we're punishing someone for their sexuality" argument. This man videotaped minors in the shower, that hardly counts as private sexual contact between consenting adults.

    Posted by: Mark | Dec 31, 2011 7:20:28 PM

  24. It's not pedophilia. If he had filmed the girls' volley ball team, no one would use the word "pedophilia".
