Broadway Actor Gavin Creel Makes 'Noise' for Marriage Equality: VIDEO

Broadway actor Gavin Creel and songwrtier Robbie Roth released a single on iTunes today, Theater Mania reports:

100% of the proceeds raised through the sale of the single will go to benefit Broadway Impact, the grass roots organization mobilizing for marriage equality that Creel co-founded with Rory O'Malley and Jenny Kanelos.

In a statement, Creel says, "I've always been a believer in the power of art -- and music in particular -- to inspire change. I hope this song motivates people to take action, fight complacency and stand up for what they believe in."

Check out the video for the song, AFTER THE JUMP...

You can find it on iTunes HERE.

  3. it's amazing the role theatre, and broadway, has played in the ongoing movement for civil rights.

Show Boat. South Pacific. The King and I. Parade. Carousel. The Boys in the Band. The Normal Heart. A Raisin in the Sun. And on, and on...

it's a community and a culture that continually cries (sings!?) out against injustice, empowers people to claim and take charge of their own lives.

my wee young gay ass heard "everybody says don't" during adolescence and indeed thought "YES!!!"

  9. This guy is both the Sweetest Guy on Broadway and in the West End, AND an articulate, dynamic, relentless, creative and compelling voice in a Call to Action that needs heeding. It is ever so much Time to Make Some Noise...and I think I'm hearing it...
