Homophobic Calendar by Christian Cartoonist on Sale at Amazon, Barnes & Noble

A Towleroad tipster is not amused that Amazon and Barnes & Noble are hawking the "I'm Not Gay, I'm Just a Sissy" wall calendar by Christian cartoonist Joe King.

  1. This disgusts me.

  2. You cannot preview the individual pages, but you can see the back cover. While it's hard to decipher most of the months, February is titled "We've all got AIDS." There's just no excuses for this kind of crap.

  3. Why would anyone actually buy this?

  4. Whacky Christian hijinks. What's really funny is how people are viewing his calendar and also viewing porn-y calendars so that they show up on the 'customers who viewed this item also viewed' section.

  5. Coplain to Barnes & Noble & Amazon.

  6. Absolutely, complain to B&N & Amazon - they have a responsibility for what they sell. Neither would sell a "funny" racist calendar - they need to have corporate accountability for endorsing "humourous" mocking of gay culture.

  7. Lol if u buy the Jesus story, u gotta think Jesus, the man who loved everyone, including the hated, has to be up in heaven going "WHOA! Where'd that come from... Ur sick, man. Get some help. Ay dios mio... That's just hateful."

  8. This puts The Eternal Jew to shame.

  9. Is that Marcus Bachmann on the cover?

  10. Man, what a freak:

  11. Interestingly enough, on the Amazon page, customers who viewed this (indeed) tasteless trash also viewed these other pithy calendars: "Provocateur Masculinity 2012," "Hairy Men 2012," "Lucas Entertainment: Monster Cocks 2012," " Naked & Exposed 2012," "Colt Butt Beautiful Calendar," and my personal favorite, "Toilets of the World 2012." Some of the others are far less salacious, but it makes me wonder how many devout Evangelicals are buying this thing. At least we know where Marcus and friends could get their stockings stuffed...

  12. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I just called B&N and complained. We'll see how far that goes.

  13. This guy is a freak - but Amazon needs to be held accountable for selling this offensive calendar.

You can post your comments on the calendar's Amazon page here:

Or simply search Amazon for "I'm Not Gay Calendar" and the listings will come up.

  14. Why is demanding we stop being treated as second class citizens an attack on "Christians", but this crap is just good clean Christian humour?

  15. Barnes & Noble is carrying this too. Register your displeasure with a review if you have a B&N online account.

  16. Excuse me but "Christian cartoonist"? What is it in Joe King's "cartoonish homophobic bigot calendar" (in which he derides a segment of humanity) that makes him "Christian"??

Christians like King are beneath contempt for their whacked out view of Christ's teachings. They are to be shamed and ostracized for making a mockery of the New Testament. Christian indeed!

  17. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I just called B&N and complained. We'll see how far that goes. This just shows their ignorance in promoting hatred and bigotry.

  18. The number of one-star reviews is heartening.

  19. I'm at Barnes and Noble almost every week, and I've never seen this. Maybe they just carry it in less cosmopolitan areas than Portland, Oregon and the surrounding 'burbs.

  20. The "oscar night" cartoon is in November? this guy is too stupid to even stereotype people properly for christs sake

  21. I just call B&N and complained also.

Here the #1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665). Give them a call and ask for a supervisor.

  22. Well you all have been over to Amazon, because customers who have viewed this item have also viewed the "Lucas Entertainment Monster Cocks 2012 Calendar," the "Hairy Men 2012 Calendar," and so on. :)

  23. Send a message letting B&N and Amazon know that it's unacceptable to promote such filth in their stores. I'm actually shocked that this book is for sale at all, disappointing.

  24. Who would buy this normal person, gay or straight. But I bet it's a big sell around NOM, AFA, etc...but like I said, no normal people, just the closet cases who are scared they'll be found out.

  25. Fool is selling dozens of "THAT GAY GUY" crap on Cafe Express:
