  1. I really liked the phone stack idea, until I remembered all those news reports on how portable devices are a hotbed of filth and contagion and you should avoid using someone else's because of this. So stacking them seems like a problematic idea.

  2. Am I the only gay guy that finds Andy Cohen exceedingly annoying?

    Posted by: FernLaPlante | Jan 10, 2012 5:33:31 PM

  3. No Fern, he gets on my nerves for some reason too although my husband love his show (he also like's bravo programing so...). However, those painted/resin goldfish are phenomenal.

  4. i've got to hand it to chris crocker - the kid has brass balls. he elicits much anger from a very-specific demographic of gay males for a very specific reason: he lives without the fear that they're still crippled by. not only is he very publicly openly known as gay, but he does so without any pandering concessions to bigots.

the people who can't stop screaming distaste for him don't have an ounce of the strength he has to live so freely.

  5. Chris Crocker is VERY attractive, sexy, and hot . . . and I think what makes him so interesting, and good looking, aside from the fact that he simply is an attractive man, is how he looks into the camera, very open, friendly, and excited about life.

What I find interesting, or rather sad actually, that with all the bullying endured by young people, how quick gays are to jump on people like Chris Crocker, or the Airman who came out on YouTube, Randy Phillips, and just made an exercise video a few days ago, to tear them down.

It's not only straight people who are doing the bullying. In fact, I would have to say that the bullying I endured as a young gay man coming out, back in the 80's and the 90's was ten times worse than what I suffered in high school, and the military.

I do not know why people are such haters, why they can't simply be happy for others.

  6. Re: Orange County, FL - The Advocate just named Orlando the second gayest city in America (behind SLC?). I guess gayest does not equal gay-friendly.

  7. Whoa, Chris Crocker is hot when he looks like a guy. I'm impressed.

  8. Fern and co. you guys aren't exactly annoyed with Andy, you guys are just jealous of his success. Very typical, gays hate other gays who are attractive and successful. That must be it.

Oh, the patience of a Japanese! That Goldfish Salvation is AMAZING!

  9. Thank god I'm not alone in being annoyed by Andy Cohen.

  10. Mr Crocker is one fine looking young man

  11. Sorry Toby, I'm very happy with Andy's success with his show on Bravo, it's just not in my wheel house of shows I watch.

  12. I actually live in the same town Chris Crocker is from in Tennessee. (I don't know if he's here now or elsewhere.) I was initially annoyed by him when the "Leave Britney alone!" thing came out, but in interviews he comes across as surprisingly intelligent, with an interesting take on things. I'm not sure porn is the best path for him or anyone for that matter, but it's his life, not mine.

  14. "Very typical, gays hate other gays who are attractive and successful"

With this, Toby answered your question, Ricco. The few gay men I have encountered in the corporate world have been the individuals that have been the most hostile towards me. And gay men seem to be the only group that this is consistently true of. We are, indeed, a mess, as a group.

I think the base cause of it is that, like straight men, gay men have been socialized to think of only women as appropriate objects for positive emotions and to keep their emotional distance from other males.....and that is exactly what most of them do.....which is why the entire male culture needs to be overhauled.
