  1. I realize that it's our reality, but sometimes the constant news about hate groups and crimes gets old. Sorry, but it's been a crappy past year.

  2. Gee, Bob, I have a wonderful homo remedy for that bitter taste in ur mouth. And you WILL like it and take it like the hateful spiteful bigot that you are!

  5. Robert L. "Bob" Vander Plaats is the President and CEO of "The Family Leader" a conservative organization identified as a hate group intent on spreading lies and distortions against the LGBT community.

BTW, it has just been announced on CBS that the California Supreme Court will issue a ruling on the constitutionality of Proposition 8 around 10am tomorrow. The court recently ruled in favor of a conservative group's request that the video tape of the Prop 8 trial be kept from public view. It is expected that tomorrow's ruling, either in favor of or against, will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

  6. True, Paul, but so is the fight for respect for LGBTQ citizens in a hostile society. It's ugly. And it's pretty much the same groups we've always had problems with who are getting increasingly hateful. The more these groups expose their inhumane hatred towards our community, the more supporters they lose in this battle.

I'll make sure to go to Starbucks more often as a token of appreciation.

  7. Thank you, Mr. Vander Putz, for keeping the hateful bigots out of my Starbucks.

  9. Good for Starbucks. They actually have Starbucks in Iowa?

  10. The reason these freaks are becoming more outspoken in their hatefulness is they know what's coming; equality for all. This is their "darkest before the dawn" moment and it's going to get alot darker and uglier. Take heed. We're going to win this war.

  11. So you should only weigh in on the same sex marriage debate if you agree with this idiot!

  12. @Daniel, thanks for the link, just left them a huge thank you for supporting Marriage Equality and also my continued business. If money talks, I want mine heard.

  13. This guy was the nut in Iowa who sent out some petition that he wanted every Republican candidate to sign and only one did (Bachmann) who later had to say she wished she hadn't when it was revealed he had compared something to slavery. Can't remember what, but his big balloon deflated in Iowa. I read he ran for office once and got trounced there.

  14. Upset because Starbucks has weighed in on the side of marriage equality? And your position is what? You're against and you bring the weight of your organization against? You don't like Starbuck's free speech as a corporate citizen? Hypocrites ad nauseum.

  15. Vander Plaats was responsible for getting three Iowa Supreme Court justices removed from the bench, after they ruled in favor of marriage equality. I'm wondering if Starbucks might take legal action against Family Leader, since what they say is pure libel. Or do such large companies usually ignore this kind of dreck?

  16. Maybe someone who knows how can start a social media action & get people to send him a $1 Starbucks card? email:

  17. Calling all bigots and haters! Please, please please continue to boycott Starbucks! The sooner Starbucks is empty of your hate, bigotry and predjudice, the better! I will be SO HAPPY not to have to share oxygen with any of you haters! So go -- I mean it -- get going! I will wave at you as I pass my local Dunkin Donuts, and see you fat outlines in the window. Enjoy the company of your fellow morons, because "your type" aren't welcome at Starbucks.

Oh and one more thing haters -- don't let me catch you using a laptop or the Internet as Apple, Microsoft and Google all support marraige equality and gay rights. Where is your boycott of all technology? Guess you truly are cowards who lack the courage of your convictions.

  22. Van Der Plop has had a rich run of attention for 3 years or so, with the Iowa Supreme Court Justices attacks, followed by schmoozing with the pathetic swarm of Repub Presidential Wannabes. So now he has to find other means to keep himself on public display. Orange city and Pella just aren't big enough for his ego.
