NYC City Council Speaker Christine Quinn Sets Wedding Date
New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is set to take advantage of New York's new marraige equality law and marry her partner Kim Catullo, the NY Post reports:
Quinn, who could become the city’s first gay mayor in 2013, set May 19 for her nuptials with Kim Catullo, said her office, which revealed virtually no other wedding details. Quinn, 45, sent out “save the date” cards yesterday to wedding guests in the form of vintage subway maps. So her aides decided to notify the media of the timetable before someone else leaked it. The only other information they would provide was that the ceremony would be held in Manhattan “with family and friends” and would be private.

It's nice she could take time off from promoting the anti-gay St Patrick's Day parade.

Quinn is an embarrassment to the community - a two-faced, dishonest, greedy, corrupt politician - by far the worst of the 2013 Mayoral candidates. Is this who we want serving as the face of the LGBT community?

Love her! she's a true pioneer for many gays around NYC. ALWAYS sticking her neck out when a gay hate crime occurs, and demanding justice. Thats what I expect from an LGBT elected official. If there's crimes targetting gays, rally the troops and build strength through your presence...and she always did just that

Quinn is not a pioneer for gays, though she gives the impression of being one by showing up at every gay event and pumping her fists in the air. In fact, Quinn turned her back on the dozens of middle aged gay men in her district who were entrapped and falsely arrested in the City's attempt to shut down porn shops by issuing nuisance abatement violations. She didn't want to speak out against the NYPD in that case, as gays were being thrown in jail.

3 of the 4 comments I see are bashing her. What a shock that a Lesbian does not put out everything Gay men want! If you want a Gay man more that her, find one who can win the Mayor job -- or maybe, shut up and realize that prominent Gay women often pave the way to Gay rights, as the public is less threatened by them.
As for the arrests - they stink, but how can ANY politician tell the public that porn store jerkoff booths are OK?

Bob - the middle aged gay men weren't arrested for being in a "jerk off booth." They were approached by hot young cops in plain clothes who pretended to be interested in them. When they left the store together, the young guy would try to give money to the older guy, and the police would swoop in and arrest the older guy for prostitution. It happened dozes of times - in Quinn's district - and she refused to help. The fact that Quinn is gay doesn't excuse her record: http://votechristinequinnout.com/
