Bristol Claims Threats After Gay Marriage Critique

BristolDancing

Bristol Palin last week injected herself into the gay marriage debate by dissing President Obama for citing his young daughters' support for his shift on the matter. Now Palin says she received death threats for her remarks, and appears to be pinning the blame on Hollywood:

[Palin shared] screenshots of some the comments written on her site, including ones that say "kill yourself," "may death be upon you," and "You all, including your son, deserve a slow, painful and miserable death."

However, the 21-year-old isn’t backing down and argued the death threats only serve to undermine her critics who are attacking her.

"Around Hollywood, there's lots of concern and great initiatives to try to encourage more kindness in this world,” she wrote. “Then why do I get so many messages telling me I should die?"

Palin claims in the post she is victim of “bullying.”

"Here's a newsflash, guys. Your hate and bullying won't work,” she wrote. “People see through it, and they don't like to be pushed around. You think it's completely obvious that you're right, but this younger generation is more pro-life than their parents, and voters just keep defending traditional marriage."

As Irish Central points out, Palin's chattiness on marriage, and the former Dancing With The Stars contestant's claims of threats, come mere weeks before the premiere of her latest reality show about her life as a single mother.

It's called Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp. Because, you know, her kid's name is "Tripp." Word play!

  2. What vicious, nasty things someone posted anonymously on a website! This, of course, only happens to the Palins.

Frankly, mean and uncalled for as the comments were, they did remind me of some exchanges between various Palin/Johnson in-laws that have been published. Are we sure it wasn't an inside job?

  3. "You all, including your son, deserve a slow, painful and miserable death" is a Death Wish, not a Death Threat.

A Death Threat would involve telling her that someone was going to kill her -- and when and how.

  4. What? People writing stupid things on message boards? Unheard of!

    Yes, making death threats is stupid and not helpful. But I think we can sum up everything all the Palins say with this quote;

    Bristol Palin: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  5. These comments sent to her are horrible, despicable words that do nothing positive and improve no one's lives. Welcome to the club, Bristol!

  6. This story is two perfect examples of why, I am thinking more and more, life was better BEFORE the Internet. Before the Internet, 1) We would have never heard about Bristol's opinion because she's not important enough that the news media would cover it. We only heard about it because she wrote it on her blog. Thus, we would have been spared the opinions of this very confused yet extremely annoying young woman, and 2) Before the Internet, people were not able to anonymously post death threats, hate filled screeds and so on, because commenting didn't exist. We just saw the news story without extraneous comment, and didn't have to read what some angry idiot in his pajamas thought. I miss those days.....

  7. That's funny, as gays have been responding to "threats" against LGBT people and our right to equality, personhood and a culture predisposed to prejudiced toward us from not only Bristol's trash mother, but the political party they support.

    just sayin'

  8. HAHHAHA! ALAN! Gurl, you so cray-cray!

As if your gay republican @ss has had any success whatsoever in "talking to republicans" about LGBT Equality.

you gay republicans can't even get your own families to support you, so im sure you've had tonnes of success changing the hearts and minds of the rest of your GOP bed buddies.

keep hating liberals, wont' make you own life better :D

  9. dear bristol, remember when you wrote about how you lost your virginity after drinking "wine coolers" that you "Didn't know had alcohol in them" and that they made you "black out, completely" (wine coolers made you black out? did you have 75 of them???) and therefore you pretty much claimed that Levi raped you?

yeah. we all thought that was pretty funny. well, everyone except God. He was pissed that you broke the 9th commandment in order to appear the innocent victim of a roving penis.

so, you and your family can keep on being trash. and please, for the sake of the rest of america, get your tubes tied.

  10. PLEASE stop reporting on this twit. What she says DOES.NOT.MATTER. A trampy dumb unwed mother is the last person who should be making statements related to marriage. So stop reporting on her!

  11. Bristol, honey, those "threats" might have actually come from some in the LGBT community but, knowing the right-wing mindset and its general immaturity, I'd guess that those "threats" are plants from people on your Mummy's side of the fence.

If anyone is interested in reading one of the all-time great b!tch slap-downs of Bristol Palin and the general, egregious hypocrisy of the tighty-righty immoralists, here's a link to yesterdays NYTimes op-ed page. This is a classic and biting rebuttal to La Palin:

  12. @Alan: You are a voice of reason on this topic. We should respond to our opponents like adults and oppose all violence or threats of violence in our democracy. Hateful and mean spirited comments serve no good purpose. Keep on posting, this site needs all the rationality it can get.

  13. For the life of me, why would anyone give a rats behind about Bristol Palin !!!

  14. hell she probably posted them herself just for the publicity. she is definitely her mother's daughter a fame whore looking for money.

  15. Like mother, like daughter. Bristol is selling herself in any form or fashion just like Sarah, to make that money. She pays a ghost-writer to slap together blog entries on hot-button issues to shamelessly promote herself. Talk about some successful capitalists- all body and no brains. See how far they’re willing to go for the cash at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/06/ecstasy-of-sarah-palin_15.html

  16. Um, why is she in Hollywood, is she supposed to be some kind of actress or something? And young people are more and more pro-life? Well, perhaps, but for the most part young people are smart enough to use birth control...unlike Bristol...so it's not a real personal issue for them. And as for the voters defending traditional marriage, let's get back to that in 20 years, when the current crop of senior voters are dead. Then we'll see how today's young voters think. Back to the tundra with you, Bristol.

  18. To her question “Then why do I get so many messages telling me I should die?" I answer,
because Ms Palin you, unfortunately are not the only brainless idiot out there.

  19. "Here's a newsflash, Bristol. Your hate and bullying won't work. People see through it, and they don't like to be pushed around. You think it's completely obvious that you're right, but this younger generation is more pro-equality than their parents."

Funny how her own words can be used against her.

  20. Bristol Palin needs to learn how to keep her MOUTH and her LEGS shut.

  21. If Hollywood is your problem why do you keep sucking at its teet? Are you giving up on your show?

    Posted by: greenfuzz | May 16, 2012 7:47:33 PM

  22. Bristol, sweetie, I hate to break this to you, but nobody cares enough about you to threaten you with crab lice or split ends, much less anything mortal. Get something resembling a life, missy.

  23. Character assassination seems to be the strong suit of many who post on this site. I come in contact with many gay people in my life and volunteer work on a daily basis and none of them are as mean spirited as many who post on this site. It saddens me that so many gay people are so insecure that they are driven to be so hostile.

  24. Wasn't her mother caught forging fake comments onto her own Facebook page? It's more than likely those screen shots were taken of her own forged "threats." What a pathetic piece of trash this girl is.

  25. I made a comment on a different news article about this topic that she needs to get hit by a truck. I still stand by that comment.
