'Disturbed' OMM Reacts To JC Penney Catalog Featuring Gay Dads

GayDadsJCPenney

The group One Million Moms released the obligatory press release decrying JC Penney for featuring real-life gay dads in their most recent catalog.

Describing themselves as 'disturbed,' the group again vowed to keep fighting the gay-friendly retailer. "Our persistence will pay off!" they declare in their press release, which also insists JCP "would rather take sides than remain neutral in the culture war."

It is obvious that JCP would rather take sides than remain neutral in the culture war. JCP will hear from the other side so they need to hear from us as well. Our persistence will pay off! One day we will answer for our actions or lack of them. We must remain diligent and stand up for Biblical values and truth. Scripture says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful nature.

In addition to again urging their supporters to call and write to JC Penney, OMM also asks them to return any unsolicited catalogs that may come their way. "If they receive an onslaught of their returned magazines, they will take notice."

Despite these frequent calls to action, JC Penney has remained steadfast in their commitment to equality.

  1. Brokeback: You do realize both actors were straight in "Brokeback," and one had to die in the film. Then it was nominated for Best Picture but only Ang Lee, the director, won an Oscar. Hollywood, cool as it is, couldn't give the award to a gay themed film. I've done everything gay in my life so I really don't worry about being a "freak show" but thanks for stealing my word. I'm more concerned about the violence that going to go down, when the self-entitled brats meet real opposition. I have no religion. This can't go well -- people unfortunately have their prejudices. And this is too much of a jolt to society.

  2. Don't worry JCP, these fat, lazy, "stay at home" brat-breeding machines are'nt about to get up off their sofas and do something as time-consuming and strenuous as mailing back your catalogues. It's enough of a chore for them to pile into their minivans and drag their "christian" asses to WalMart several times a week to buy their husbands outfits...

  3. What are you blathering on about? Self-entitled brats? Violence? Newsflash: JC Penney is NOT the first retailer, or company for that matter, to feature gay families in advertisments. Take it down a peg with all this "can't go well" talk. OMM is a very small pimple on the butt of society. I doubt these ladies will take the time from their church socials and country club soiree's to revolt against the gays.

  5. Cliff, were you serious when you said that these children look as if they'd been kidnapped? I've rarely seen a family photo that appears more natural and beautiful than this one. But if you're worried about something that won't go well I think you'd be worrying about this constant threat on Towleroad to call for the removal of tax exemption for churches. If the latter happens, watch for the "One Million Moms" to suddently become in actual count the "Forty Million Moms."

  6. I DO NOT SHOP AT J C Penney. I DID NOT KNOW IT IS "gay-" FRIENDLY. I WOULD RATHER PAY MORE AT A HETEROSEXUAL-FRIENDLY STORE THAN SUPPORT SUPPORTERS OF UNYIELDING RADICALS.

  7. I'm not talking about the Million Moms. I'm talking about those who commit gay bashing. You can be a flippant as you like but watch. It's the straight males who will do damage. There will be a marked increase in gay violence. There is something called the real world. Not some gay marketing genius giving two white men, two black children. Children aren't props, and we always see them as children. What happens when they grow up and realize how they were used just so two men could play house.

  8. Well, at least they admitted to what we all know that they are disturbed.

  9. Just received a June mailer from JCP today. The mailer is bold, fresh, and modern. If it is a tease of what is coming from JCP, then I bet many more of us will be shopping there - both for their support of the LGBT community and for the merchandise that comes out of the reinvention of their brand.

In the meantime, I'll be one to vote with my wallet and give them any business that I can...

  10. @Cliff: So gay people/families are never to be shown because some straight guy may beat us up? You want us to hide in a closet? How do you change people's attitudes if they don't see or think we even exist because we are hiding out? From your comment it sounds ike you are more offended not by the gay dad's, but the fact that they are white males with black children. You are right about there being something called the real world, you're just not living in it. You are sad.

  11. @Whatever Gay violence is going up every month. You can sit back and watch from your "beliefs." What "sad" is gay people trying to replicate straights Gays survived and thrived for hundreds of years before they surrendered to the "hetero cage of coupledom." if you want to parade your artificial family around be my guest.

  12. CLIFF is a great new a@@hole to have in the crowd. Bad tempered, tactless, a good mix of smart remarks and idiot opinions, hugely trollish and no joiner, doesn't think gay guys do everything right. Just what we need...does he know where he is? Entertainment to be sure!

  13. Good Grief! Do you guys not see what Cliff is doing? He comes on every day and tosses a bomb like talking about our children just to get a reaction. When he didn't today he kept escalating with more and more outlandish statements until someone took the bait and then he was off with screed after screed. This is just what he wants. We have a discussion and he hijacks it with his silliness. We end up talking about him instead of the story. Please stop giving him what he wants.

  14. I can't see what any of the writing in the photo says. but what exactly makes this photo "gay"? It certainly is a lot less gay than standard underwear ads.

  17. What's the OMM problem ?
The kids have two dads,it doesn't matter if they are gay or not......the ad is not promoting same sex marriage......so what's their beef ?

Would they have a problem with two straight dads ?
Or is their problem "the gays" ?

I suspect the latter.....which condemns them as undiluted bigots.
Let it be said clearly; OMM are bigots.

  19. Cliff: now what are you chirping about?

  20. Do two gay men want to play with children? I think they'd rather be in Fort Lauderdale cruising other boys. This kid thing will get old. Especially since everywhere they go with the kids all they get are dirty looks, and people pointing and laughing. Welcome to your new life,

  21. An ad featuring two men spending time with their kids and showing them affection? THE DEPRAVITY! GET THE FBI ON THE PHONE IMMEDIATELY!

  22. Cliff you are a sad human being.

  23. Quite the contrary. I enjoy yanking your chains. You'll never know until you yourself experience it. Reading that LGBT violence is rising and I'm not making that up. Reality check. Unfortunate result of over exposure.

  24. "This kid thing will get old. Especially since everywhere they go with the kids all they get are dirty looks, and people pointing and laughing"

Cliff, the kind of gay men who want to spend their whole lives on cruising aren't the type who would create/adopt children. As to the stares and pointing these families may experience it isn't likely to last very long. The culture is changing so rapidly that pretty soon there will be severe stigma on anyone who tries to publicly humiliate gay families. Even the very religious will become more tolerant of gay families - and come to find that being tolerant is making them happier people.

  25. Do they REALLY have One Million Moms? If so, statisticly, that could mean they have about 100,000 children (10%) who are Gay.
