GOP Rep. Lankford Tries To Explain Comments About Firing Gay People: VIDEO

Lankford

Oklahoma Rep. James Lankford appeared on his local news last night to hit back at Think Progress for reprinting his comments that gay people do not deserve workplace protections.

According to Lankford, he said nothing of the sort. Rather, he simply believes homosexuality is a choice is that "private behavior" does not warrant "special protections." The entire encounter with TP, he says, was an example of "ambush journalism" and an extension of President Obama's pro-gay marriage agenda.

  1. speaking of "private behavior", in the Sermon on the Mount, Christ is rather explicit in His declaration that prayer must be done in PRIVATE (in your closet) and not made into boastful public spectacle.

therefore Lankford's own ties and support of the "national day of prayer" is a direct disobeying of Christ's word, and thus an attack on Christianity.

oh who am i kidding? this plebe doesn't know his own bible, nor what he's talking about. and he is, alas, clearly one more closet 'mo. not that we want him on our team anyway. ugh.

  4. While I certainly don't agree with Rep Langford, he seems like a good guy who could be won over to our side by reason and logic. What he really needs is someone in his life who is gay to sit down and talk with him about their life and its journey. To those of you who just write him off as a hater, think about your own families. I'll bet that many of your parents and more certainly your grandparents would have expressed the same views he has expressed. What, if anything has won them over. Don't write people off with mean spirited rhetoric, engage them.

  5. What have your own parents and grandparents said about homosexuality? Are they just haters? Or are they good people who can be won over by reason and logic?

  6. Stop the hateful rhetoric. Pretend that it is Thanksgiving Day and you are having dinner at Moms house.
