Here's Evangelist Billy Graham's Full-Page Ad Blasting Gay Marriage Running in 14 North Carolina Newspapers: PHOTO

On Wednesday, I noted that evangelist Billy Graham was speaking out in support of North Carolina's Amendment One and was running an ad in 14 state newspapers. Here you have it.

There's still time to donate against it.

  1. At 57, I never thought I would hear from Mr. Graham again as I assumed he was burning in hell for his sins of vanity, hatred, and sloth.

  4. The Bible is clear: Marriage is between one man and as many women as he can kidnap, conquer, purchase, rape or trick into marrying him. And if they won't marry him, then it is ok if they are just a piece on the side.

  6. I think that pic was taken when he was sitting on a toilet because it looks like he's concentrating on something difficult.

The old fraud was a sanitized generic Christian that old school politicians could call on to appear religious without being too specific about it.

  7. To all those who are griping about the failure of the IRS to step in and tax the churches when they engage in this sort of political activity: I feel your pain and believe that--regardless of whether they've engaged in political maneuverings or not--*every* church should be taxed just as individuals and corporations are taxed.

However, as RICH posted earlier, the IRS codes state that churches can engage in political campaigning so long as A) the church does not endorse an individual candidate, and B) a "substantial" amount of their activity doesn't involve attempts to influence legislation.

The key word in that last sentence is "substantial". When a church takes in tens (or hundreds) of millions of dollars per year, it can get away with spending a few million attempting to influence legislation because those few million dollars represent only a very small part of their activity. Thus, churches are legally within their right to engage in political discourse and still remain tax free.

Yes, TJ. That's the good news. The bad news? Your nemesis Mary is still here. (kidding, just kidding!- and be nice, TJ. I'm evoling, so to speak. But as with the lower life forms, it takes time....)

  11. The real Billy Graham didn't even take a stand on when human life begins. He didn't use to be this bigoted.

I believe this is the work of his son, Franklin.

  13. 1 John 4:20 if any one may say -- `I love God,' and his brother he may hate, a liar he is

Mr Graham, did you actually read your Bible or are you just regurgitating hate speech and telling people your deity told you to hate people?

This is from an Agnostic who actually read the Christian Bible to a man who claims to teach it.

  14. Um, didn't Billy Graham die a few years ago? Or did Graham just pull a Jesus on us?

  18. The Bible IS clear on marriage being between "one man and one woman". There are NUMEROUS passages wherein the BIble states this. Also, read Leviticus 18:22.... :-D

  19. Listen here Grahamcracker, if two men or two women in NC want to marry each other , that is their business. The Unholy Booble supports slavery, genocide, the stonings of non-obedient kids, non-virgin brides, folk who work on the Sabbath. Perhaps we should punish those who eat shellfish, heterosexual women who have sex while on their beards or dare to speak up in church, men who shave their beards and you must call your mothers 'women' and non-Gentile chicks 'gentiles' and abandon your loved ones in order to be a disciple of Cheesus Crust. Graham is one of the most deluded fart suckers on the plant. He needs to seek the help of a licensed psychiatrist immediately!

  21. Did it ever occur to you that the bible's views on homosexuality are wrong , LJ? If
two men or two women want to be in a romantic and sexually active relationship with each other that is their business.

  22. Isn't this idiot dead yet?

Posted by: Esther Cartney | Oct 5, 2012 9:27:58 PM

  23. LJ,

If two men or two women in NC want to marry each other then let them. No one cares about an immoral , outdated passage from your book of myths. Two men can have sex together as can two women have sex together it is not your business. The Bible is in favor of polygamous marriages and it also condemns people who eat shellfish or wear mixed fabrics and men who shave their beards and supports slaves. So take your big book of desert fairytales and shove them up your ass. Gay marriage will be legalized for all same-sex couples in NC one day.

  24. Wow! I really do pray for all of you. not because of a belief or agenda but because when this life is over there will be no second chance. This goes for Everyone. It will be to late to decide when you wake up on the other side "WOW YOU ARE REAL! and GOD says you did not chose me and i knew you not. No one is perfect but we have a loving GOD who sent his own son to be brutally murdered and died on a cross so you would have a way to heaven. Would you have sent you own son to be tortured and beaten to death for some one you did not know???
