RoadThe Chicago Tribune looks at GLASS — or Gay, Lesbian and Supporting Sailors: "The Navy's support for GLASS is extraordinary, advocates say, considering it follows decades in which the military banned gays from service, pretended they didn't exist or required soldiers to stay closeted to keep their careers. Especially dramatic is the turnabout for the Navy base near North Chicago, where, in the early 1980s, the Naval Investigative Service aggressively purged gays from its branch after a 21-year-old sailor, Melvin Dahl, challenged the ban. Dahl, who was honorably discharged in 1982, won a federal lawsuit in 1993 that had helped pave the way for the now-defunct 'don't ask, don't tell' policy."

  1. RE: John Travolta lawsuit details

I laughed pretty heartily at "Scientolohole." Yes, I am a 12-year-old.

  2. @ ENDO, then I'm a 12-year-old too!

  3. A second masseur is now joining the lawsuit against John Travolta. This new one claimed it took place Jan 28th in Atlanta at a resort. (Unlike the first one, the lawyer can't claim he wasn't there as he was shooting a movie there on that date. ) This second one says he complained to management immediately afterwards and has some kind of proof and witnesses.

  4. i agree with mandel, although it might cost obama the election.

btw, where was mandell's manhood when he was pa governor, the state that still doesn't have even basic antidiscrimination protections, unlike every single one of it's neighbors

  5. Produce the stained blue dress already or end the discussion. If he has no physical evidence, then it's just a masseuse vs. Vinny Barbarino

  6. The sleazy details of the Travolta case are hysterical...they are actually producing another Riddick movie?!

  7. West Virginia, which is one of Pennsylvania's neighbors, doesn't have squat in the way of GLBT protection

as for Riddick-I liked the 2nd movie.

  8. Sounds like it's becoming time for Travolta to face the music. It would be much easier to believe that this was all fabricated if it weren't for all the previous reports of his acting out at spas. Well, that and the second lawsuit announced today! Sounds more and more like he's turning into a completely creepy old perv of a closet queen, who seems to believe that he has much more power than he actually does.

  9. @brod. "masseuse" is female

  10. Wouldn't it be easier for Travolta to hire hire a Personal Assistant/massage therapist/hustler? At least if the guy was on his payroll there would be less likelihood of him suing because of bad behaviour. Also he wouldn't have to keep going to spas or booking appointments with hotel masseurs every time he wanted to get his freak on.
