WSJ Editor Paul Gigot Excuses Romney's Anti-Gay Assault: 'So What?' - VIDEO

On FOX News Sunday, Wall Street Journal editorial page editor Paul Gigot dismissed last week's story about Mitt Romney bullying a fellow student thought to be gay, Think Progress reports.

Said Gigot:

"He was a leader of the prankster group. So what? And this is the only anecdote I think they found that was kind of edgy. [...] I think in terms of politics, if this is the worst thing that the American people find out about Mitt Romney in the next five months, he is going to be a very happy man."

  2. This is a total non-issue. OK, he was a bully once or twice in H.S. he made mistakes. His halo fell off. That's just ancient history and evidence that he actually was human. Let's all focus on more substantive(and there are many)reasons for rejecting Mitt's candidacy.

  3. @ Joe in CT:

He was not a bully 'once or twice', he is a bully now, as he's always been a bully. You need to see the pattern of behaviour throughout his life. It's not pretty.
Romney is an entitled upper class bully with no empathy for people who are different from him. A very dangerous man to have as a president...

  5. one day one of Mitt's sons will either Come Out, get Outed, or hang himself. then he can sit and reflect at the lousy parent and excuse for a man that he has been.

  6. Oh Kiwi, you know he'd never blame himself for something like that. It would be the militant gay who seduced his son into a perverted lifestyle, and then God punished him. Or something.

  7. I wonder if this Gigot guy would find it 'edgy' if a bunch of big men jumped on him, held him down, and cut off those few white hairs he's got left. Waving sharp scissors around his head, ignoring his cries for help and mercy.
Would he wonder what would come next? Would he ever feel safe around those men again?

A prank is something you do to a friend, one of your own group. The same action done to someone who's different and targeted because of that difference, is bullying.

You'd think educated people would know this, right?
