More Homophobia from Chick-Fil-A COO Dan Cathy: Gay Marriage the 'Tragic Consequence' of Not Thanking God - VIDEO

Jeremy Hooper has dug up more Biblical condemnations of same-sex marriage from Dan Cathy, President and COO of Chick-fil-A, from an event at Hope Community Church on June 21 of this year:

"It's very clear in Romans chapter 1, if we look at society today, we see all the twisted up kind of stuff that's going on. Washington trying to redefine the definition of marriage and all the other kinds of things that we go—if you go upstream from that, in Romans chapter 1, you will see that because we have not acknowledged God and because we have not thanked God, that we have been left victim to the foolishness of our own thoughts, and as result, we are suffering the consequences of a society and culture who has not acknowledged God or not thanked God—he's left us to a deprived mind. It's tragic and we live in a culture of that today."

  1. It doesn't bother me that he is spewing bigoted rhetoric. It bothers me that at the same time, he is hawking that damned cow, so instead of me viewing it as his personal opinion, much like I would have Adolph Coors back in the 1980s, he is combining it with the brand of his company, and therefore his company should receive the backlash.

  2. He and his followers DON'T have to live in "a culture of that today"....they could move to another country.

  3. He should speak about the stomach turning health violations Chick-Fil-A racked up over the years including storing "raw dog food with ready-to-eat food" What is raw food doing in a restaurant? Check out the other disgusting violations

  7. Note that he quotes Romans... an epistle written by Paul. Paul, unlike Jesus is NOT the son of God. He is a man, a flawed man.
His opinions are his, not Christ's.
Therefore these bigots are Paulists, not Christians. They blaspheme the name of Christ by hanging on to words that are not from Jesus himself.
Tell that to a "Paulist" and watch their head explode.

  8. He misquoted Romans 1:28, which says God gave them (those who do not acknowledge Him) over to a "depraved mind," not a "deprived mind."

  9. typical hypocritical piety, there's nothing less-Christlike than ignoring the epidemic levels of gunviolence and defending your second amendment rights, and continuing to promote and defend "fiscal policies" that are a direct contradiction to everything attributed to Christ in the bible.

why is it only a "Christian nation" when it comes to hating gays and non-Christians? why isn't it a "Christian Nation!" as a call for universal healthcare and stricter gun laws?

  12. Mr. Cathy, you might consider yourself lucky living in a country that has "forgotten God", considering that you are making millions from the residents of this very same country. If you don't like it, please leave, and don't slam the door on your way out.

  14. This is great ! We need to keep up the pressure and this guy will have to resign ! The franchisees are obviously pissed at him right now too so they will want him gone also.

This man is one big idiot. He's a TERRIBLE business man. He's going to bankrupt his company because he is arrogant and thinks he is untouchable.

  15. And why would I read a letter addressed to someone else ?
And especially a letter to some people in Rome a long time ago ?
And "twisted up kind of stuff"........
Is this the School of Palin for fine English ?
    It is virtually illiterate.

    What an ignoramus !

  16. Chick-Fil-A, along with their executives, and the Boy Scouts of America, are on the the wrong side of history. They will be considered the KKK of this era -- and Dan Cathy their Grand Dragon.

  18. Only a deprived mind would consider that fried slop he serves to be food.

I won't get into the whole Christian thing other than to say he wouldn't know Jesus Christ if Jesus kicked him in his chicken lard ass.

  19. I'm sorry but didn't God take a bone from Adam to create woman as a servant for him? Doesn't this imply marriage, as defined by the bible, is a sort of pseudo slavery?

And hasn't marriage been redefined throughout the existence of mankind multiple times?

So, shouldn't this man be mentioning the Government is redefining marriage...again? Because it is the natural course of change to better fit society?

  20. Seriously ?! This man is insane. He's totally power-crazy and his ego is out of control ! He has a business that makes sandwiches ! He hasn't found a cure for cancer or the reason for life - he makes fast-food ! He needs someone to remind him that he ISN'T the messiah !

Once again we have this total disconnect between what they SAY they believe and how they ACT. He says he follows the Bible but the Bible clearly says not to judge anyone but to treat everyone as they treat you. Why do American so-called Christians always skip this bit of the Bible ?

Also, there are way more sentences in the Bible stating it's wrong for a married person to have an affair than there are sentences about homosexuals. So why are these so-called Christians trying to get laws against people having affairs ? Why do they conveniently forget that bit also ? Why aren't they pressing politicians to pass laws that allow us to stone a woman to death if she has an affair - it's clearly explained in the Bible. Why do they forget that bit too ?
These people are NOT Christians. These people are not wanting to follow the Bible. Most of these people have never actually read the Bible. All they are about is pushing the Republican Party agenda and using brainwashed religious sheep to further their cause because brainwashed religious morons don't ask questions and they are easy to manipulate.

I don't see how this company can continue with this idiot in charge - he needs to be removed from this position. His big mouth has already hit their profits this month - he can only go from bad to worse. Other companies are starting to cancel contract with this evil company so it's a slowly sinking vessel.

  21. Keep digging that grave, Dan Cathy. The more he opens his mouth, the more disservice he is doing his company. He's one arrogant bigot.

  22. Wow, where to begin??? Heterosexuality is also condemned in the same chapter. It's about the pagans practicing idolatry instead and God giving them over to their rituals, their vile affections. Both male and female temple prostitution is condemned throughout the entire bible, just as it is here again. F#ck these people.

  25. "It's very clear in Romans chapter 1, if we look at society today, we see all the twisted up kind of stuff that's going on. Washington trying to redefine the definition of marriage and all the other kinds of things that we .... blah blah blah blah blah!"

I mean, WHAT??? This guy is bonkers. Does this guy know that the bible is, like, a guide book? One that has been argued back and forth and reinterpreted for centuries. If he wants to use this as a literal rule book, he's going to fall seriously behind. Especially if he makes up his own words here and there.
