Brian Brown Calls FRC Shooting 'Politically Motivated' On CNN: VIDEO

National Organization for Marriage president Brian Brown appeared on CNN's Early Start today to again claim Floyd Corkins, the 28-year old accused of shooting a security guard at Family Research Council's HQ, was trying to send a political message.

"Everything points to the fact that this was politically motivated," he said. "Groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center which has labeled the Family Research Council, which is a mainstream group, a hate group. That sort of talk… is totally irresponsible and unacceptable and I think this incident makes that clear."

  1. These hate groups assault the LGBT community daily, calling for discrimination, opposing legal equality, even encouraging foreigners to oppress gays. They base their attacks on lies and slander. Then, when they flog our people enough, one of the very few violent people in our midst does something stupid and wrong, and it is the LGBT people who are responsible? Note to bigots: when you spew hatred at people, don't be surprised when you get a little puke back on yourselves.

  2. Well, that didn't take long for Brian to milk this for free attention and spin it to feed his silly "the gays are out to get me!" paranoia.

  3. From:

"To understand the Holocaust you have to understand the Darwinian biology of the time. There was a growing sense, particularly since Ernst Haeckel, that there were those in society who were 'biologically' inferior and that for a 'fit' world to survive and thrive, those who were 'unfit' should be done away with. Instead of letting nature take its course, there was a unspoken sense that humans could take matters into their own hands. I am obviously not supporting this twisted logic, but that is a key to understanding how a number of things converged to create the nightmare of the century. [However, 'biological inferiority' is subjective. In Britain, for example, many Social Darwinists, especially those active in education, were most impressed by the achievements of Jews in schools and universities and concluded that they were a 'superior breed' ... This view was to some extent echoed in Nazi conspiracy theories, which painted a picture of diabolically cunning Jews]."

All this sounds oddly familiar since the Reagan administration attitude towards gays during the AIDS Pandemic. This isn't religious hatred, this is persecution by a losing philosophical thought process that is forced to meet the real world. These minor intellects, like Bryan Brown, don't have the biological capacity to create new neurons to understand this Brave New World.

  5. On October 19 2010, during a period when a string of gay teen suicides was getting significant press coverage, NOM's Maggie Gallagher wrote an op-ed in the New York Post saying how ridiculous it is to blame anti-gay groups for fostering an environment that led to those deaths.

For NOM to pivot and blame gay advocacy groups for this singular exceptional incident is the height of hypocrisy. If I ever thought Brian Brown was anything other than a cynical, sanctimonious blowhard, this would be all the evidence I needed. Disgusting.

  6. No, FRC is still a hate group. Sometimes bad things happen to bad people, too.

  7. Of course it was politically motivated. He didn't shoot that guard because he didn't like him personally. Just like the right wing kooks who shoot guards or MDs at abortion clinics, they are trying to send a message. They are the twisted fringes of the American political scene. All of them must be condemned.

  8. They all must be condemned unconditionally. No but, however, because or any conditions. Those who commit violence must be condemned. There are no excuses, no mitigating circumstances. Our response to evil deeds must always be clear condemnation. Period.

  9. Home boy is gaining weight! I wonder why? Could it be the HATE they spill out is getting him nervous because more and more people are seeing his LIES.

    Whatever they spill, DOES.NOT.MATTER.

Today in LA and also the web that I googled, this incident is not getting the national news they want, even if they are interviewed by a few news stations.

Meanwhile ... FRC is a HATE group!

  10. Meanwhile, Little Kiwi nails it as always. Good job!
