Close Encounters of the Koala Kind: VIDEO

A koala swims from shore to board an outrigger canoe on Australia's Gold Coast. BBC:

Although it is not unknown for the marsupials to take to the water, experts believe the animal might have felt trapped on a tidal bank in Tallebudgera Creek and decided the canoe was its best way to escape.

  4. I think the koala wanted to get to the other side of the river. He didn't seem to mind being held and in a boat though.

  12. That was awesome. Towleroad you need to post more videos like this. The steady diet of negative political stuff gets depressing.

  14. Hopefully the little one has survived and is doing well in the wild as Koalas are being forced out of thier habitat by increased suburban development in and around cities in Queensland.

  15. There's something so real, raw and sincere with all animals..unlike human beings who pride ourselves in how "evolved" we are..but ever notice how 8 out of 10 humans you meet are nothing but pretencious.

Aimals truly have a way of giving us a comic (and often lovely) relief from the chaos that is crazy humans.
