Elton John Declares Madonna's Career Over: 'It Couldn't Happen to a Bigger C*nt' — VIDEO

Elton John went after Madonna in an interview with Australian music journalist Molly Meldrum during which he also talked about his own career, and his 19-month-old son Zachary:

"Fate took a big hand in my life."

Lady Gaga, of course, is the boy's godmother, and Elton took the opportunity to offer his opinion on some of her pop music peers, including Madonna, about whom he didn't mince words.

"Her career's over. Her tour's been a disaster. And it couldn't happen to a bigger c*nt."

He added:

“If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly. But no, she had to prove that she was like...and she looks like a f*cking fairground stripper. She's been so horrible to Gaga.”

  1. I've met both of them and I can tell you neither one is worth a warm bucket of spit.

  2. Her career is over? Name the last hit Elton has made that didn't involve a twenty year old cartoon lion....

  3. oh, john. simmer. unlike aging male pop/rock musicians, females get a ridiculous and hypocritical level of scrutiny. old aging male rockers can pose and preen and get lauded. females are called haggard, old, and told they look like whores. nice.

that said, i wish madonna had gone the acoustic-pop route she was hinting at with a few tracks from Music and the underrated American Life. it was a great sound for a woman who already paid her dancefloor-dues.

btw, Elton - i aint bought an album of yours in more than a decade. i love ya man, but lighten the F up. smoke a joint or twenty. you sound like a crotchety old fuddy-duddy.

  4. Oh! Is her career over? No one told me! I hate being kept in the dark like that. *rolls eyes*

  5. Who is Elton John?

  6. EJ speaks his mind and is un-P.C. I respect him for that, although I don't agree with everything he says.

That said, EJ and his early partner Bernie were artistic and musical giants, Madonna is not and never was.

  7. @Ken,

I don't doubt for a second both Madonna and EJ are fcking cnts. MANY people the general public worships from athletes to politicians and entertainers, well known 'successful' businessmen and women, are c*nts and wouldn't give the average person the time of day.

  8. Can someone please pull the tampon string so we can watch this bitter queen blow up. I'm so sick and tired of her.

  9. Sorry, you call it bitter, I call it right on the money.

  11. Apparently there's at least one singer who's a bigger c*nt than Madonna ...

  12. Wow... He's really, really angry that he lost that Golden Globe to her last year. What else is this really about? Her career is not what it was, obviously, but it's hardly over. And if she's been "horrible" to Gaga, she's only pointed out (rightly) that Gaga is, at times, copying her career move by move. (a perfume only months after Madonna's came out?) really?) but Elton is just plain horrible to Madonna for no reason aside from an obvious dislike and maybe misguided loyalty to Gaga. FYI, Madonna tour is already taking in double what Gaga's is, and she's a new performer supposedly at the top of her game. If Madonna is washed up, explain that, Elton?

  13. lol

  14. Uh, Elton, honey? If I was you (and thank god I'm not you), as a man whored himself for oodles of money to perform for Rush Limbaugh like some, uh, faerie circus monkey? I'd be careful of who I'd call a "fairground stripper". I'd also be careful of calling someone else a c*nt especially since you are one of the BIGGEST c*nts around.

It's sad to see that you have devolved into an embittered, old, has-been queen and god, honey, it shows.

Now, I'll agree that Madonna should have stopped at Ray of Light and the tour supporting that brilliant piece of dance-pop. From that point on, she should have allowed herself to be a very good pop singer, which she is, and continue to make good pop music. Or, become a producer or a mentor to younger stars.

Maybe Madge and that REAL c*nt, Janet Jackson, feel that their fans wouldn't accept them as women who have matured, grown-up as it were, and are afflicted with the female version of the "Peter Pan Syndrome", obligating themselves through cosmetic surgery and severe work-out regimens to perform as if 20 years haven't passed us all by.

Yet, there she is. Performing nightly to sell-out crowds, albeit in countries she has not really toured before. God bless her.

But, Elton, honey? Why get so personal? Is it because you've NOT taken care of yourself, that you've aged quite gracelessly and your voice is shot and these days you couldn't sell out the storeroom at the local Walmart?

You got issues, Elton-dearie. You need to work on them. Obviously, you have NOT followed your 12-Step program very well.

  15. So much for sobriety. You should just have a drink and maybe you could enjoy music again. Better yet, maybe you could make music like you did 35 OR MORE years ago and stop singing Disney tunes and exploiting dead people. That's what all your bitterness is about though, right?
Charity can be given quietly and not for attention.

  16. I'm not Madonna's biggest fan, but I like some of her music. Elton sounds like a bitter old man. Can't he just keep his mouth closed? I would like to know why he hates Madonna so much. He is just embarrassing himself, again. His praise of Rush Limbaugh a few weeks ago was an all time low. His music just isn't the same to me anymore. I've deleted most of it from my ipod. Sad.

  17. they're all c*nts

  18. That Elton John "THE TOAD" needs to sell albums...Yes Madonna is 54yo, who the f*ck cares??? as for her last album I'm still playing it endlessly, its that good.

He should form an Old Queen Club...some of the old folks on here need that too.

Tired old queen with a dead career says WHAT?

  20. She's getting a taste of her own medicine. Vadge has talked shyt about people all throughout her career and now it's her turn to be on the receiving end.

  21. Is it really news that Madonna is a c#nt ? She has always been one but Elton is no better - selling out on us by accepting a knighthood by the most homophobic, sexist and racist right wing Royal Family !

    Posted by: Icebloo | Aug 6, 2012 1:19:02 PM

  22. I've defended Elton John before when he's opened his pie hole and said something stupid, but this is just sad. He was always super-competitive when it came to sales and chart placings and all that, but he's lost the plot when it comes to Madonna. Even if this was supposed to be off the record, how dumb is he to think it wouldn't get out any way?

Being his and Furnish's publicist must be the worst job ever.

  23. Didn't he have a blow up with Tina Turner at some point? This guy is total ego.

  24. A man who hasn't had a hit in a decade and a half, who was so afraid of people disliking him that he re-entered the closet during the height of the AIDS crisis, who played for famously anti-gay Rush Limbaugh, has the nerve to declare the career of woman who has just enjoyed a top ten, and number 1 dance, hit, along with record setting concert revenues, over. This is laughable.

  25. "Is it because you've NOT taken care of yourself, that you've aged quite gracelessly and your voice is shot and these days you couldn't sell out the storeroom at the local Walmart?"

True, very true, sadly true and not true at all, he's still a big draw in concert.
