Faux-Christian Ministry 'Mission America' Publishes Hateful Guide to Homosexuality for Kids: READ IT

The faux-Christian anti-gay hate group Mission America and its leader Linda Harvey have published a Q + A for talking to kids about homosexuality.

HarveyNot surprisingly, it's rife with the worst kind of homophobia. You can read the full pamphlet below but here's some of its nonsense:

Gay is bad, bad, bad:

But once in a while, a man wants to date and love another man, or a woman wants to date and love a woman. Most cultures long ago decided this was very wrong. And they made rules against it, for a lot of good reasons (more grown-up stuff). First of all, two men can never create their own child. Neither can two women. And two men kissing– well, it just doesn’t seem right. That’s because it isn’t!

In fact, it's an abomination:

God had very, very strong words against homosexual conduct (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27). So even though it’s not the only sin, it’s still a very serious one.

When Jesus came, He repeated what God said about marriage –that it should only be one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6). And we should not forget that Jesus was really God on earth, so He should know!

Never tell a kid that gay is okay, even if they're being bullied:

...it’s not right to tell someone that being homosexual is okay. The person may be feeling sad because of being bullied, but never try to make him or [sic] feel better by saying “gay” is okay. Kids who are overweight are sometimes bullied, too. And we might want to make that person feel better. But it would be a mistake to say that overeating is a good thing, right? So tell your friends, in a nice way, that no one needs to be “gay” or pretend to be the other gender. It’s not the right thing to do.

And homosexuality is a choice, just "strong feelings":

Some people claim they were “born” homosexual. But there is no well-accepted science that backs up that idea. Strong feelings are not proof of anything.

And here's Harvey's suggested usage for the pamphlet:

"Have you wished you could find a simple flyer for your older grade school or middle school children about homosexuality? Well, Mission America has developed one. It's clear, concise and provides a beginning basis for a more in-depth study later on. You can read and download it below. Feel free to print this as needed and give to your children, grandchildren, or your church group."

  1. I am so sick of hearing about people like Linda Harvey and those like her. Just the section on bullying is enough for me to say that the world will be a better place the day this woman drops dead.

What's particularly disgusting is that she does this in the name of her religion, "Christianity," but her words and deeds are in direct opposition the the actual lessons of Christ. I'm not religious at all but I was raised in a church- it seems I took the real lessons of Jesus far more to heart than Linda Harvey or the other self-proclaimed mouthpieces of the Religious Right. Treating others as you'd want to be treated, etc.

  2. Ugh... I gave up after reading the first quote block. It's too infuriating.

  3. Can you imagine having this mentally ill woman as a family member?

  4. Love it when someone says I'm an abomination just because it says so in a book that has been translated hundreds of times and was most likely written by men who although were inspired by G-d, understood relatively little of the world in which they lived.

  5. "Can you imagine having this mentally ill woman as a family member?"

    Unfortunately, I can.

  6. When we try to inform children with FACTS about homosexuality, we're "trying to convert them", but when radical Christians spew lies and anti-gay propaganda, it's "teaching them Christ's love".

The Ultra-Christians have to indoctrinate them early, before they get old enough to think for themselves.

  7. Wow, she is the biggest POS ever.

btw, not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but in Matthew 19, Jesus mentions homosexuals as "born eunuchs" and does not condemn them. He also says, when He meets a gay man via the Roman Centurion, "Never have I seen faith greater than this."

btw, I've never advocated violence against someone but this women is basically driving gay kids over the brink. If anyone pushed her off a cliff I would almost have to buy them dinner and dessert.

  8. Yet another example of how women are increasingly the face of homophobia in America.

Notice that all of her "bad" examples lead with MEN--men loving men, men having children together, men kissing. When she mentions women doing these things as "wrong", it is only as an afterthought, and in the case of kissing, women are not mentioned at all......so her real thrust is obviously against male homosexuality, as you would expect from straight women who are increasingly threatened by the prospect of men liberating themselves from emotional, social, and sexual dependence on women, which will diminish the power these women possess.

Straight women are not our friends and we do not share any common destiny with them and examples like this just underscore that fact. The tipping point will soon be reached where men are the principal advocates for the eradication of homophobia from the male culture and increasingly vocal about it, while women are the principal opponents of it and increasingly vocal about it.

Which is going to force all of you to do some serious re-examination about your ideology and your relationships, however much you may want to avoid having to do so, for whatever reason.

  9. my mother is the president of PFLAG Toronto, Rick, and along with my father they're dedicating their retirement years to LGBT Advocacy.

ditto my sister and her husband in wales.

you want males to be responsible for eradicating homophobia? does this mean you're finally gonna grow a pair and show yourself, stand up to be counted, and stop hiding under the anonymity of your screen name?

you're finally gonna practice what you preach and put a face to what you say as a Gay Man?

or is this just another monday, the beginning to another week of spewing your bitterness like the destined-to-die-alone wimp your father knew you to be?

    just curious.

check it out. Brian Burke, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, speaking. Also my mother. One of those straight women you seem to be incredibly terrified of.

i don't expect you to reply to me though. you're not man enough :) or woman enough.

  10. Horrible. Evil. Hateful.

  11. This isn't "faux" anything. Linda Harvey is a real Christian, and Mission America is a real Christian ministry. Christianity is a putrid stew of ignorance and hatred, and this is what it looks like in practice.

  12. The interesting aspect of this horrific guide is that pretty much Linda Harvey is really saying "Homosexuality is weird/icky and therefore wrong." Hence the "two men/women can't procreate" and "two men kissing seems wrong." Religion is simply the front used to cloak the hate, make it, and herself and her organization, look noble.

These people will go to any lengths to destroy our community. They are truly evil. Unfortunately, most of the children that have parents who would ever download and use this bigot guide are likely already dealing with severe homophobia in their household with their folks.

  13. I look forward to reading this woman's obituary. What a toxic life. If investigative journalism still existed, I'd dig into her history to see how she grew into the person she is... someone who's asking for a farmhouse to fall on her.

  15. OMG Rick! ANOTHER diatribe against women? What is your freakin deal with them? Do you have mommy issues? EVERY TIME YOU COMMENT. ENOUGH ALREADY! Seek some help buddy for that and your issue with effeminate men (paging Dr. Frued again). You pontificate about stuff like you are some kind of expert. You aren't.

Btw straight women aren't our friends? What planet are you on? If that's the case about one million fag hags are going to be sadly looking for new best friends.

    End of eye roll

  18. "And two men kissing-- well, it justdoesn’t seem right. That’s because it isn’t!"

Obviously Jesus disagreed with her. Not only did He not suggest there was anything wrong with a man kissing a man, but he questioned Simon about NOT kissing Him, as if a man REFRAINING from kissing another man could be indicative of a problem.
Honestly, it seems that if half the churches in America had Jesus himself walk in next Sunday, they would be likely to kick him out for not conforming to their prejudice-laden re-invention of what a Christian should look like.

  19. Try as I might, I cannot see one once of love in this woman's expression. It's more like Hitler, reincarnated.

well said ! "Old Jesus would just puke !"

  21. Two men kissing is wrong because it causes a feeling of disgust in Linda. Yet feelings are not something to take as true or base decisions on?

  24. someone needs to tell this hypocritical b**** that Matthew 19:4-6 is a fraud withnthevextrawords added hundreds of years later.

As others have pointed out, it is only about divorce. there is a rear book, by a minster, entitled "Misquoting Jesus" that gives the history of all the misinformation added to & misinterpreted by so many blind faithers...
