Kal Penn Hosts DNC Coverage As O Calls Harold & Kumar: VIDEO
Kal Penn shocked Hollywood when he left his lucrative acting career to briefly work as the Associate director at the White House Office of Public Engagement.
Though he has departed 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Penn is still very actively involved in Democratic politics and is volunteering this week at the Democratic National Convention, where he will address the crowd tonight and host live coverage for the party as the event unfolds. AFTER THE JUMP, Penn explains why he got involved in the first place.
Also AFTER THE JUMP, footage of President Obama calling Harold and Kumar, the stoner characters Penn and John Cho first made famous with Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, a movie that also helped revive Neil Patrick Harris' career.
The sad part is that in this silly attempt to appear hip and with it, people will get sucked in completely ignorant of the fact that Obama LIED about his stance on medical marijuana.
He claimed on the campaign trail that he would not use federal resources to squelch states' medical marijuana legalization, and then continued to more aggressively attack and raid medical marijuana institutions than George W Bush did.
But nobody wants to acknowledge it, because the Big O can do no wrong...

Actually, Jack has a completely legitimate point and it matters to untold millions of Americans, most of whom don't even consume marijuana. A solid majority of us want it legalized and taxed. So, go snort bath salts or whatever it is you do, Tyler and DRJWL.
Also, Kal is adorable.

So much hostility at Jack for telling the truth. Obama is a liar and it's about more than marijuana. He signed legislation that took away all of our civil rights, saying he regretted doing it as he did it.
If you are willing to settle for that you've given up. I think Romney is worse on more issues that matter, but at the same time...
Obama is a liar. And that was what Jack was saying. Telling people to go smoke or assuming that they are for the opposition simply because they see through the emperor's new clothes makes me wonder about you and the fact that you only seem comfortable with groupthink.

Just wondering... Can Obama legalize gay marriage, marijuana use and other controversial things 'if he feels like it' by just signing some piece of paper? If not, the man's not a liar, but a guy doing his job by the book.
So, stop getting pissed at him; he's no liar and he's trying, unlike that OTHER party.
