Paris Hilton Comments On Gay Men And AIDS Actually Are Shocking

ParisHiltonThe word "shocking" is often inserted into headlines to grab reader attention, to sensationalize video, audio or text that may not in the end be that shocking.

Not so with Radar Online's headline on Paris Hilton's odious remarks about gay men who meet on Grindr: "SHOCKING AUDIO: Paris Hilton Blasts Gays Who Have Sex With Strangers: ‘Most Of Them Probably Have AIDS'".

According to the site, a New York City cab driver recently sent them secretly recorded audio of a conversation Paris and a gay male friend had about Grindr.

Explaining the hook-up app to the heiress, the friend remarks, "Say I log into Grindr, someone that's on Grindr can be in that building and it tells you all the locations of where they are and you can be like, 'Yo, you wanna f**k?' and he might be on like, the sixth floor."

Paris' response: "Ewww. Eww. To get f**ked? Gay guys are the horniest people in the world. They're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS." She later says she would be "afraid" to be gay because "You'll, like, die of AIDS."

Hilton's PR team, dealing with the biggest gaffe they've had to face in a long time because their client has for the most part dropped out of public interest, claims the 31-year old was only talking about HIV-positive men who go in search of unprotected sex.

Paris Hilton’s comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease.

The conversation became heated after a close gay friend told her ... a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex. He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers. As she was being shown the website her comments were in reference to those people promoting themselves on the site.

The cab driver who recorded this, only provided a portion of the conversation. It was not her intent to make any derogatory comments about all gays. Paris Hilton is a huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone’s sexual orientation.

Sigh.

  3. Gay men yet again "shocked" by finding out what straight women really think about them (and yes, it is pretty much all of them, not just her).

I don't know what is sadder--that some gay men continue to delude themselves into the belief that straight women are their allies and have common cause with them.......or the fact that the vast majority of gay men are so incapable of loving a man--or relating to a man in any way emotionally-- that extreme promiscuity continues to be the norm.

The two phenomena are closely related, of course. Their adoration of straight women springs from the same source as their inability to love or even like men or an individual man.

Sad, sad, sad, all the way around.

And only a total overhaul of the culture will change things, as I have pointed out before.

  4. Face it guys - most of us really will not admit to what we are - gay men in general are pigs. And yes, many, many of you are on those sites soliciting sex and having unprotected sex with anyone who goes for it.
I have been on those sites and talked with plenty of guys ready to have unsafe sex at any time. And it's behind their partner's or wife's back, or they are in the ever popular "open relationship" (read pigs). Get over yourselves, grow a set, and own up to who you are.

  5. Can we make a condom big enough to go over Paris Hilton's fat head to protect us all from her stupidity?

  8. More shocking to me than her drivel are the nasty, judgmental comments from the gay brothers right here on this site.

  9. Just out of curiosity, why is it "shocking" that an airhead said something incredibly stupid?

  11. honestly, relative to all the other issues facing our extended community, I don't care what paris said in a cab, possibly out of context.

ignorant/uninformed folks say stupid/disparaging/insensitive things all the time. grindr can be/is problematic for a whole host of reasons. but it is what it is. nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head; we all make choices, some conscious, some not.

I do care about re-electing barack, advancing equal rights and protections for all LGBT individuals (http://thefour2012.com), creating opportunity --- economic, educational, cultural, etc. --- for all... like that.

  15. "This is about homosexuality and the fact there is still a gay=dirty mentality in the eyes of a large portion of people."

How else would you describe, honestly, a sexual culture focused on an organ that expels feces? How can we ask the world for respect when we don't even respect our own bodies?

  16. Since she's saying this crap to a gay friend, this is probably just her stupid sense of humor.

Her PR team would've been better off to just say she was making some private comments to a friend & joking in an inappropriate way & apologize for it. End of story.

But she clearly wants any kind of publicity. She prob hopes the bad publicity will prolong the attention on her -- altho maybe for a sec. She really is pathetic.

  19. Does anyone really listen to a woman using less than a pin-head portion of her brain? Really, just let her remarks stream into the sewer with the rest of the sewage.

  20. I doubt she truly feels that way. She may be a flake (and drunk, in this clip) but she never struck me as a hater.

Somebody's got a peculiar penis. Well, where do you ejaculate? That muscle at the end of the intestines called the anus? What species are you?
