Sarah Palin Forgets She's Famous: VIDEO

Here's a fantastically awkward bit of brand-burnishing from Sarah Palin, delivered while she was being interviewed on FOX Business Network Thursday evening, shortly after John Kerry mentioned her during his speech at the DNC:

I think he diminished himself by even mentioning my name. How does he even know my name? I mean, aren't these guys supposed to be these bigwig elites who don't waste their time on the little people like me? Me representing the average American?

Sen. Kerry mentioned Palin's name while tossing a zinger at Mitt Romney -- something about how Sarah Palin once said she could see Russia from her house, while it seems like Mitt Romney's only ever seen Russia in Rocky IV. Fox Business Network host Neil Cavuto gave Palin a minute to respond to the joke, and then mercifully stepped in to formulate a response on her behalf -- something to the effect that it's a shame how Democrats are still taking Palin's Russia comments out of context, while complaining about their own words being similarly misused. Watch AFTER THE JUMP ...

  1. Uh, Sarah? I'M an average American. OK? And you? You're just another ignorant, washed-up, right-wing, phony-baloney, neo-nazi, nit-wit, quitter-c^nt who gives new meaning to the word "stupid".

Now, Sarah, please! Sit down and STFU!

  2. Sarah, honey, EVERYONE diminishes themselves by mentioning your name! Only you foxites consider Kerry a bigwig elite. YOU'RE the ones who have been telling America for years about how elite Dems are - always pointing fingers to distract from yourselves. He doesn't hold a candle to your republican buddies.

  3. It's funny how the craziest of the far right believe that whatever they say is reality. If you say you are a normal american you are. If you say Kerry is a big wig, he is. Its like whatever imaginary world you make believe is the reality to live it. Full of delusions and misinformation, ironically enough it's from your own creation.

She needs to find that bridge to nowhere and cross it.

  4. What's interesting about this is that Sarah Palin never did say she could see Russia from her house... that famous line was uttered by Tina Fey in her brilliant SNL lampoon of Palin, after Palin (correctly) indicated that it's possible to see Russian land from some places in Alaska. Palin may not be the brightest bulb in the pack (and I'm not defending her buffoonery in any way) but she's not a complete idiot.

  5. That is true JR, funny enough Tina Fey's impression was so good that people found their word indistinguishable. What she actually said wasn't much better, that being close to Russia gives her foreign policy experience (she has and still hasn't ever been to russia, or spoke with any russian official, even while in office).

  6. Is it my imagination or has her plastic surgeon permanently given Ms. Palin that "whatever are they thinking?" eyebrows-arched-to-the-heavens look that has served her so well as an icon of the hopelessly insufferable? Or is she just incapable of using her face like normal people?

    Posted by: Stranded | Sep 8, 2012 11:18:13 AM

  7. @BrandonJD exactly. The fact that she said one can see the farthest east of the Commander Islands (of Russia)from the farthest west of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska (and I'm saying this in more detail than she even did) gave her foreign policy credentials was plain silly. And btw Kerry did quote "...see Russia from Alaska..." in his speech, not Fey's "Russia from my house" version.
Anyhow, what I'm loving this is that Palin's been pushed out of the spotlight and is acting like the reality show famewhore she is and pouting about the lack of attention even if her words pretend otherwise.

And yes I know us talking about her doesn't help the goal of my last paragraph!

  8. Let's see, you have a million dollar contract with FOX, you made millions off your book, you make boatloads more money off your speaking engagements, you've been doing everything you could to insert yourself into the national spotlight for the last four years including a reality show and issuing an anti-Obama statement every time the President even sneezes and now suddenly you're acting like you're one of the anonymous "little people"!?!?!?!?!?! Really?!?!?

  9. I maybe she finally she came to the dramatic realization that her 15 minutes were up 2 million minutes ago.

  10. I'm not sure that she really cares what's said about her - as long as she can "get even" and respond through the Fox News television machine; however, the thin-skinned part of her that makes her keep replying to every perceived insult makes her appear pitiful and childish. She can dish it out, but never can take it. Did she behave this way as an adolescent? She hasn't seemed to grow up. I do think that she's the last one in on the joke, and no one's going to tell her till the money mill stops crankin' out the dough.

  11. For the love of God. SHE WAS A VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ON A TICKET THAT HAD ALMOST 46% OF THE VOTES! Why the hell wouldn't anyone know her name, unless you're under the age of 4 or completely ignorant to politics??

    Posted by: Harrison | Sep 8, 2012 12:09:28 PM

  12. I am sure the American people are glad she never go more than a heartbeat away from the presidency. every time she open her mouth she belies her own stupidity and ignorance. she's not an "average american", the average american doesn't get to live in a million dollar house and travel all over at other's expense. she didn't evenmake the full term of her governorship. she's a has been and should be a never was. sadly john mccain can be blamed for that.

  13. What a dope. She's been on a relentless campaign of self-promotion since 2004 and has far greater name-recognition than John Kerry does. I wish she *had* faded back into the obscurity she so richly deserves, but that's far from the case.

At least finally it seems she's becoming known for what she really is, a grasping, proudly uninformed attention wh*re whose relationship with reality is tangential at best. Given a choice between the truth and a deceptive slogan, she'll go for the bumper sticker every time.

It's fitting that after John McCain sold out every principle he ever claimed to have, he'll be best remembered for unleashing this harpy on the American public.

  14. What a happy day for humanity it will be when NO ONE remembers her name...

  15. FNC and FBN are the only channels which even care to ask sth from this woman. And those channels do it just because they have to.

  16. Love this gal more everyday. She irks these tired, old, Godless liberals like no other. Why don't you jerks sit down and STFU.

    Posted by: sodakhic | Sep 8, 2012 1:02:20 PM

  17. LOL at "Godless liberals." Sarah Palin breaks the Commandment against lying every time she opens her mouth.

    Posted by: Caliban | Sep 8, 2012 1:08:53 PM

  18. This is Alaskan humor. She knows she has 98% name recognition.

  19. Some troll got another nickel.

    Posted by: Berijeck | Sep 8, 2012 1:16:31 PM

  20. Sarah looks a bit famished there. It must be from lack of all that delicious attention she fed off of for the past 4 years. At this rate, the poor thing will die from starvation in a year or two.

    Posted by: FuryOfFirestorm | Sep 8, 2012 2:47:56 PM

  21. Ahhh we have a new name "Sodakhic". Is it one of our self-hating, closet cases like Markus, who comes here for the Matt Bomer pics and gets in a tizzy when she's reminded that the Republicans hate her...or is it a paid troll who actually thinks anybody here gives two sh-ts about what they think? STFU yourself Sodakhic, and GFY, since that's all the action you probably get, except at a truck stop.

  22. Anyhow, I'm all for Caribou Barbie being in the media spotlight...if you notice the GOP seems to be doing everything to keep her out of it. Reminds people what a farce the Republican party is, that they would have put this airhead second in line to lead the free world. Maybe her daughter can get knocked up out of wedlock again...hey Newt where are you? #3 is starting to look pretty old and haggard for a man of your towering intellect.

    Posted by: EchtKultig | Sep 8, 2012 2:59:35 PM

  23. At this point, she's so dated that she might as well be Screech, Urkel, or Kimmie Gibbler.

  24. What a lunatic.

    Posted by: Randy | Sep 8, 2012 4:31:54 PM

  25. She is really a piece of work. Maybe the fact that Fox is demoting her makes her realize that she really is a nobody. Oh forget that she loves herself too much! Remember when she quit being the governor so she could help our country? I hope she saves her millions! She's gonna need them
