Ann Coulter Tries To Convince Bill Maher Racism Ended In 1964: VIDEO

Bill Maher was more than happy to debate conservative author Ann Coulter on his HBO show last night, and she was more than happy to bring her best, brightest theories, like the idea, the basis for her latest book, that racism is over here in the United States.

Watch her attempt to convince her host of something so obviously not true AFTER THE JUMP.

Maher also spent some time last night picking apart the 34 various calamities anti-gay group Focus on the Family claimed would come to fruition should Obama win in 2008, including their fears that abortion would be free on demand, guns would be seized, the Boy Scouts of America would be abolished and the pledge of allegiance would become a thing of the past. None of those things happened.

Watch Maher and Coulter's exchange AFTER THE JUMP.

  1. Nothing like a white person to tell you that no one is racist anymore as if they would know.

  2. The perfect reason to skip the 1st few minutes of last night's Maher show- don't need to watch Axis Annie. Mr. Coutler really is getting old-

  3. Oh and by the way, the church of LDS excluded black people until 1978. Mitt Romney was an adult at the time. I really wish someone had the balls to ask him to his face what it was like being a member of a racist organization and was his church wrong to be racist.

  4. Is this a gay-relevant story ?

  5. @YUPP: are you the story police? Why does this story have to be justified to you?

    Posted by: BETTY | Oct 13, 2012 4:39:04 PM

  6. @YUPP: For the record, gays are a minority. So are African Americans. She is trying to say racism ended in 64. As if. We are fighting a similar fight. These right wing windbags just live in another world and don't want anyone other than them to have rights. Get it? Would you like it simplified any more?

Btw: Towleroad regularly features stories that aren't gay specific. You know that so stop trying to start something.

  7. As if she would know what was happening anywhere in the country from her very sheltered life in New Canaan CT, I'm not sure in what year it became acceptable to sell to Jews in New Canaan.

  8. Is she serious or has she created a character to make money and get air time?

  9. Yupp are you a reality relevant person --- discrimination is discrimination - period.

  10. @MATT26 - ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!!

  11. Dear Ann:

We have now focused our efforts on helping the less fortunate and beautifying our highways.

    Yours truly,

  15. Coulter isn't even interesting as a provacateur anymore. Years ago she was infuriating, but her schtick has grown so tired it just sort of sits there now like a loaf of stale bread (she even seemed really bored with it last night. Even her attempts to taunt Maher's audience just came across like she was half-heartedly trying to wake them up from falling asleep at her snooze-worthy "shocking" material).

She's majorly phoning it in, and its hard to see how she can trump anything she's done in the past to get a rise out of people from the conservative angle. If I were Coulter's agent, I'd advise her to reverse course and become a big liberal for a few years. THAT would be shocking, and she could probably sell books and appearances to the other side for awhile by viciously attacking the right. It'd be cynical and phony, but when has Coulter ever been anything but?

  16. Okay then, she lacks the depth and warmth... PC enough for you?

  17. Ann is dressed very inappropriately. It's not the beach, Ann, so put some clothes on. Look at how modestly Bill Maher is dressed in comparison.

Ann is also wearing her hair like a 17 year old floosie. Grow up, Ann - you're getting older.

  18. Hey...uh, "Betty" (lol), I'm just tired of Belonsky trying to pull his racial junk. And I've been tired of it ever since he joined the mob trying to send the Duke lacrosse boys to prison (in THE case he hides from now).

  19. @YUPP:

It's a news story. Get over it. Do you agree with her?

    Posted by: BETTY | Oct 13, 2012 7:07:42 PM

  20. Bill still let her get away with too much maybe he should have Biden talk to her next time.

  21. Racism will probably exist as long as there are humans.

  22. Bill looks younger, what's he doing differently?

    Posted by: Jason 2 | Oct 13, 2012 8:29:19 PM

  23. Why is Maher even giving her a platform ?

Why would anybody even watch ?

  24. Why does anyone care what this person says?

  25. I second MATT26's win for the day. Exactly.
