Bay Buchanan Speaks to Gay Conservative Group GOProud, Assures Them Romney Will Win: VIDEO

Pundit Bay Buchanan addressed a crowd of 65 attending gay conservative group GOProud's 'Unity' event in Washington D.C., , mocking Obama and assuring them Romney would win the election. No mention of LGBT rights was made at the event.

The Washington Blade reports:

...the audience seemed largely unconcerned about Buchanan’s position on LGBT issues or the lack of any mention of them.

Jose Romero, 34, a gay D.C. resident, said he came to the event because “it’s time for a change” and after four years of the Obama administration “people aren’t in a better place than they were four years ago.”

“I think everyone has their own issues that are important to them and not everyone’s No. 1 issue is getting married,” Romero said. “The economy, international politics, those types of issues are more important, I think, to some people than others.”

Jimmy LaSalvia, GOProud’s executive director, introduced Buchanan, reminding them his organization is the only national gay organization to endorse Romney because “on issue after issue, a Romney administration would be better for gay Americans, indeed all Americans.”

Wach Buchanan's address, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Don't give me that crap, Jose Romero, about not being in a better place. What the hell do you think the GOP is going to do for you except deny you rights and try to ttake away those you already have. Do you think Romney would have acted on the repeal of DADT or suppported marriage equality? Not a chance, buddy boy. So if you think Mitt and his bff Paul will do any better for your rights vote Republican and God forbid Romney wins don't cry because you're considered something less than human.

  2. Other Translation: "If Romney wins you gay republicans will enjoy four whole years of almost-tolerance!"

  3. btw, when you reduce the struggle for Equality to "not everyone wants to get married" you prove every Liberal right.

it's not about marriage. it's about the pathetic bigoted excuses given to continue shameful institutionalized discrimination and prejudice.

  4. LOL. Did she conclude her address with, "and don't forget, boys, there's still time to turn or burn!" In googling Mrs. Buchanan, I discover the surprising fact that she converted to Mormonism in 1976. I'm surprised she got along will with her arch-Catholic brother since then. It proves that, for these morons, it's not really about the particular doctrines of their kooky religions, it's all about the hatred of the other. And, in the case of both them, a hatred of self as well, I've always suspected. She's one of the most crypto-lesbian seeming women in Republican politics.

  5. I don't care what GoProud call themselves. They are clearly an anti-gay organization just like Focus On The Family.

  7. Ordinarily, I'd be against using the "Jews for Hitler" analogy, but Pat Buchanan is even a worse anti-Semite than he is anti-gay (which is really saying something), so here the analogy might truly fit.

  8. The day after the Romney Landslide will be so sweet with the liberals' "Nate Silver! Nate Silver! Nate Silver!" Sort of the new "Rosebud".

  9. Bay never ceases to disgust me. When she converted to Mormonism to marry her first husband, her arch Catholic family cut off her. Obviously they've reconciled to some degree since she did manage her brother's hate filled campaign. As for Goproud - ugh- what a thoroughly reprehensible lot.

  10. GOProud exists on the false presence that their economic ideas are the only ones that work, when the side supply nonsense has actually been disproven. They think if they can keep harping on "we aren't JUST for marriage" their ideas become more palatable, but they won't. If they truly cared for the economy and politics they would do a bit more research into facts rather than right wing talking points. What a bunch of contrarians.

  11. when you meet these GOP proud people you realize that they started the organization because they needed a job after the log cabins stopped making payroll. its really a scam so they can travel and pay the rent.
really, they told me as much once, no joke

  12. The few times I have visited the Gay Patriot web site and read such hatred towards anything remotely progressive or liberal I wonder why those folks even want to call themselves gay? If you want to work so hard to destroy any candidate who is somewhat progressive or any idea that could push gay rights forward and you call yourself gay, you've got some major issues.

  13. I wonder if she told them, that as a faithful Catholic who follows the teachings of her church, she believes that they are in danger of ETERNAL DAMNATION, if they are living an active homosexual life style. Probably not, at least not before the election. Every vote counts. Even the votes of those living in MORTAL SIN.

  14. Rick, "the culture of effeminacy transcends the bounds of political ideology just as it transcends the bounds of any other characteristic"?

What a misogynist and a homophobe you are. You really have issues.

  15. One piece of misinformation should be pointed out--while her brother is a Catholic Bay Buchanon is a Mormon.

  16. @DB: Wow! Thanks for the correction. I just assumed that since her brother Pat "the evil one" Buchanan was such an outspoken conservative Catholic and Bay managed his three unsuccessful presidential campaigns, that she was a conservative Catholic. Lesson learned: Don't assume. Do the Goproud crowd have a better after life future in the view of a believing Mormon?

  17. RICK says: "Do these 'boys" have some kind of mommy issue they're trying to resolve??"

That's rich coming from you!! Those who live in glass houses.....you were probably sitting in the front row clapping your hands in glee like a little girl.

  19. Mitt Romney is the best candidate for gay Americans the way Adolf Hitler was the best candidate for Jewish Germans, and any gay or Lesbian who supports him is a traitor.
