Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy Spits Out 'Family' 6 Times in 11 Seconds, Says He Supports 'Biblical' Ones: VIDEO

Atlanta's 11 Alive filmed a ridiculous interview with Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy over the weekend after he agreed to answer questions about the recent anti-gay controversy in exchange for the network's coverage of his ranch and its Fall events.

He had his answers prepared. Someone told him to keep his focus on one word:

"Chick-fil-A's focused on families. We've always been that way. We're a family-owned business. We're led by family, and our restaurants are operated by families and we serve millions of families every week at Chick-fil-A. So, we're focused on the family."

He later added, "Families are very important to our country. They're very important to all of us who are concerned about being able to hang on to the heritage that we have. We support Biblical families, and they've always been a part of that."

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. I presume your mother and father were bigots, too, since they turned out an ignorant bible thumper like you, Cathy. So your family kind of sucks in my book. I prize my family, which thrives on love and acceptance and (hold your breath) enlightened thinking. You are just a stupid deluded cracker harboring illusions of superiority fed by the superstitions of primitive camel herders from the middle east.

  2. If companies are people and people vote with dollars then the destination of the restaurant’s donations are open for public debate. It very well should be an issue as to where peoples’ hard-earned money goes after the chicken goes down their gullet. This issue has made our little feathered friend the modern martyr as Chick-fil-A laughs all the way to the bank. Watch the poultry be nailed to the cross and pierced by the spear of destiny at the hands of those devious cows on my artist’s blog at

  7. How convenient that "Christians" forget that "Biblical marriage" included taking multiple wives and concubines, or being forced to marry your rapist.

  8. Biblical families! Has the man ever read the entire bible? Biblical families, approved by yahweh, include men having many wives and concubines. Women were property. Rich and important men had lots of them, with yahweh's approval. In one passage god/yahweh says to his favorite David: "haven't I given you all of your lords houses and all of your lords wives for your own?" Is that what Cathy is holding up as model families?

  9. I went to work tonight and found that my company had bought gallons of Chik-Fil-A Lemonade and left them with Chik-Fil-A styro-foam cups in the break room. I guess I better get used to the idea that it is an uphill battle all the way. I wish people could see that gay people are their friends and neighbors, are even their children and grandchildren.

  10. I mean, if you truly loved your family and cared for your health, you wouldn't eat fast food too often. Just sayin'. He can't like families that much as he likes their money.

  11. Families also like Solomon with 300 wives and 700 concubines, Abraham and Jacob with 2 wives, David getting Bathsheba by killing his friend who happens to be her husband, his love for Jonathon as well as the Lots daughters story that Little Kiwi posted about. The guy clearly doesn't know the bible he so loudly thumps
