Brad Pitt's Chanel No5 Ad: 'Wherever I Go, There You Are' - VIDEO

Brad_pitt

Brad Pitt is the first male spokesmodel for Chanel No5 and here's his just unveiled first ad:

The actor-cum-producer has stepped into a role previously filled by some of the world’s leading ladies, such as Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard and Audrey Tautou. Shot by Joe Wright – whose previous works include two Coco Mademoiselle commercials with actress Keira Knightley – this campaign has been shrouded in secrecy since it was announced earlier this year.

Watch the spot for which he pocketed more than seven figures, AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. I think it's disgusting that this Brad Pitt accepted such a huge amount of money for this ad. Where are his morals? Talk about the 1%. Here we have the Democrats talking about how the Republicans are the friends of rich people and yet here we have Democrat-lover Brad Pitt wallowing in sickeningly large sums of cash.

Personally, I think he and Angelina are two of the most hypocritical individuals in Hollywood.

  7. Regardless of how much they donate to charity, they still ask for exorbitant amounts of cash. They're the 1%. I think they're hypocrites.

  8. Hate to write this, but he could look better. I mean he always looks good, but with shorter hair and after shaving, voilà!
    @Jason, oh please.

  9. Wow, he really just phoned this in, didn't he. I guess he laughed all the way to the bank though.

  10. Brad is still beautiful, but that script is terrible! Every line a cliche turned inside out. It doesn't matter what he says though.

(ONLY a million, I wonder if they got that wrong, seems like ten million would be more likely, especially if the ad campaign goes on for a while.)

  11. It would seem that the ad's tag line was spawned by the title of a superb book written by one of my generation's great teachers: 'Wherever You Go, There You Are' by Jon Kabat-Zinn. That book is about mindfulness - not about selling perfume.

Ugh. In my distant way I like Brad in on so many levels, but this isn't destined to be one of them.

  12. I don't think Buckaroo Banzai would be impressed by this.

  14. Brad does more for society than most of us ever will. He's fortunate to be in unique position with access and reach. Same for his common law wife, Angie. If he made 7 figures, chances are he's giving some of it back to some charity/cause that will greatly benefit.

As for the Ad itself, it seems kind of homemade. Everything about it seems sloppy. Is Chanel going down market?

    P.S.- He's still a very handsome man at 50!!!

  17. The ad is really stupid and doesn't make a bit of sense, but all Brad has to do is stand there and I'll watch. Boy, has he aged well. In this he seems to be channeling his character Louis from "Interview With The Vampire." So, if you're depressed and poetic, splash on some Chanel.

  19. Jason,

You continue to show how moronic you are. Democrats don't have a problem with people making a lot of money. They just want the 1% to pay an equal share of the tax burden.

Brad Pitt is a noted philanthropist who donates his time and money to worthy causes.

There many wealthy people who support progressive values. The reality is that having an economically healthy majority of Americans is what makes this country great.

If you want to see what a country would like if it followed the Tea Party economic model, look at Mexico or some of the other countries tiny populations of ultra wealthy with large majorities of poor people. That's where GOP policies will lead the U.S.

  22. I admire Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: they are trying and successfully doing good. Anyone who does this can be ridiculed but that goes with the territory. Those who criticize should try doing good themselves instead of taking cheap shots.
