Gay UK 'X Factor' Contestant's Flamboyant Performances Eliciting Love, Death Threats: VIDEOS
Out gay contestants are all over the UK's X Factor this year, but there's one in particular — Rylan Clark — who is inspiring extremely strong opinions one way or the other.
UK tab The Sun reports:
The charismatic Essex lad has received Twitter death threats after he was controversially saved at the expense of Carolynne Poole last week. He has been slammed as a 'novelty act' by judge Gary Barlow and is the bookies’ favourite to be given the boot tonight. But other competitors have rallied behind Rylan, giving him a standing ovation after his dress rehearsal yesterday.
A show insider said: “The others have been very worried about him. He has been really down and getting a stream of death threats and hateful messages on Twitter. He is convinced he will get the boot tonight. But his fellow contestants have pledged to give him round-the-clock support — they all love him."
Clark didn't get "the boot", even after singing a mash-up of Deee-Lite, Gangnam Style, and Technotronic.
