Tagg Romney Wanted To 'Take A Swing' At Obama During Debate: AUDIO

Asked by North Carolina radio host Bill LuMaye how it felt to hear President Obama expose his father's misleading comments during the presidential debate this week, Tagg Romney said he wanted "take a swing" at the commander-in-chief.

RADIO HOST: I’m gonna ask something I know a lot of people want to know, or at least I do. What it is like for you to hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar. How do you react to that?

TAGG ROMNEY: Uh, you know, uh, well, jump out of your seat, and you want to rush down there to the debate stage and take a swing at him. But you know you can’t do that, because um, well first because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him…

  1. @Roger. Yes, there are enough idiots to put these jerks in the White House.

  2. Learn to give respect to your elders, specially when the elder is totally opposite to your Dad. Geez! these men, I wonder what are they teaching to their children and I'm only 20. It's just sad and pathetic.

  3. Would be interesting if Tagg followed through at the final debate, while the debate is underway, on the air, getting up from his seat and moving towards the President, yelling and shouting.

Would Daddy Mitt step in and try to stop him or would Daddy say "You can't really blame him for taking up for his Dad!"

  4. If Tagg really wants to take a swing at someone, perhaps he should start with the idiot who named him Tagg. Then again. It isn't like he'd be doing it himself. He'd just tell his butler to do it for him.

  5. That's right Tagg violence first! then conversation, typical breeder

  6. I can hardly look at Romney anymore without picturing him with a group of high school thug friends, holding down a young teenage guy and cutting his hair because he was wearing it too long. That is just one step from sexual assault, but the psychopathology is the same.

And when I watch Romney repeatedly interrupt and badger Obama while Obama is answering a question that Romney posed, the image becomes even more vivid.

Romney is, at his core, a bully. He tries to bully the truth with lies, tries to bully the facts with distortions, and will bully the American public with deception and manipulation if we allow him to.

All it takes is for the public to stand up to him like Obama and Candy Crowley did, and call him out on his outright lies, and Romney cowers into a stammering, blathering heap of phony-Moroni-baloney.

  7. When you think your s**t don't stink, this is a typical reaction....a reasoned, thoughtful response isn't in the cards for the Romneys. They're used to strong-arming people and getting their way.

  8. How do Sasha and Malia feel about Mr. Romney calling their father a liar?

  9. Sad thing about all this, is the TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE POTUS.

  10. Oh Tagg, so entitled, so bloody stupid.

But you definitely get the violent racist vote.

  11. I also think this is a none-too-subtle incitement to violence against the President.

Perhaps Papa Mitt's taxpayer-funded Secret Service security detail should sit Tagg down and explain to him that what's sauce for the Goose, is sauce for the Gander.

The last thing this country needs is for some psychopath-Tea Party type to attempt violence against one of the candidates, a la Gabby Giffords. I don't think the Romneys understand what it's like to live with that kind of fear. Yet.

  12. hey Tagg, which one of your brothers is going to commit suicide for being a terrified closeted 'mo?

  13. the second reason he didn't rush the stage was he like his father is a bully and bullies need numbers to act. next the fact he would probably crap his mystical magic underwear when the president knocked him on his dumb ass, if the secret service didn't put a bullet between his eyes first. they take a dim view on attacking the president.

  14. isn't it amazing that there's something about President Obama that makes conservatives, formerly the "don't speak ill of our president! you're being unamerican!"crowd, think it's ok to make comments about the President that are implying violence and physical threats?

i wonder what it is about him...?

  15. Oh wow looks like we have several log cabin republicans in here that want Romney. You should check into the Mormon Church's treatment of gay people.

  17. I'm quite sure Barry would kick his little ass, right in the magic underwear.

  18. Defective parents have been known to breed defective progeny. This comment from Romney's son doesn't surprise or shock me. It makes him feel manly, no doubt. I doubt master Tagg could muster much of a swing, more likely it would be very weak slap. I certainly can't picture Obama or anyone recoiling in fear say "don't Tagg me bro!". Like father like son, all bluster and BS.

  19. While this Tagg guy was probably using "take a swing" figuratively, it's too bad he didn't try, as it would have created quite an embarrassment for Tagg's lying daddy and I'm sure the Secret Service would have had no trouble keeping Tagg's sorry ass away from the president.

BTW, what is the punishment for trying to take a swing at the president? Something with a lot of years behind bars, no doubt, but I don't know the numbers as this is not something I'd remotely contemplate doing, least of all to a president I'm going to vote for.

  20. Just remember that the Romney family grew up LDS. They have a belief called "lying for the Lord". (google it) Missionaries are encouraged to be vague and avoid details - especially problematic issues. Tagg simply grew up in an environment where lying is a moral fact of life.

    @Little Kiwi: amen.

  21. ......Tagg? Really, is that a name?...Should be "Twee"..it is TOO TOO precious.I think the whole Clan Romney are elitists and haven't a clue about the common strata of our country. I am not calling the rest of us "common" but most of us do not have palatial mansions, huge bank accounts and untold numbers of untaxed dollars in off-shore banks. We could accept his level of entitlement if he was more altruistic and willing to pitch in to make our country a better place. Seems to me that he wants to be president because he really doesn't have anything else to apsire to in life. It looks more and more like a "project" he wants to take on. His head is clearly not in the game...we had 8 miserable consecutive years with a restless and bored son who wanted to "play president" and show Daddy he could do it. Is the U.S. Presidency so much of a personal challenge and image issue? Seems it is so. Obama is living the dream of "being able to do whatever you sincerely want to do in life. His understandling of race and class struggles totally qualify him to lead. He knows what the world looks like....People like Romney do not. Nor did Sonny-Boy Bush.Time to get rid of them once and for all. SHOO

  22. My friends, this is what entitlement sounds like.

  23. I am no fan of Romney or his family, but Tagg's response seems normal for a son who watched his father get figuratively beat up. I don't see it as racist, as a Salon writer has claimed--at least not the thought of doing it. Maybe feeling comfortable saying it is racist.

My dad was a small-time politician--his highest office was minority leader of the Idaho House of Representatives--and I remember feeling very bad when he ran for office and lost. I was 11, though.

  24. as every intelligent person capable of honesty is aware, had this been a black relative of Obama saying he'd "take a swing at Mitt" this would be the MAIN NEWS STORY ACROSS AMERICA.

this comment, and the stunningly muter national news response to it, does not but point out the ongoing embarrassment of White (and moneyed) Privilege.

Shame on the Romneys. And again, which of you Romney boys is the 'mo? Are you gonna come out one day or swing from a noose? At this point I don't blood care if it's the latter. There. I said it.
