RoadAlmost 600 rhinos killed so far this year in South Africa: In just the first two weeks of 2012, poachers in South Africa had slaughtered nearly as many rhinos that had been killed in all of 2007, putting it on track to being one of the deadliest years from the endangered species in recent memory. Sadly, as 2012 enters its final month, the grim predictions have been confirmed with 588 rhinos killed as of this writing, expected to reach 600 by year's end.

And it’s a smokescreen to divert international attention from Uganda’s craven role in the ongoing war in Congo. Both instances in which this bill has been brought forward have been timed to distract from Museveni’s excesses at home and abroad."

  1. Being confined like an animal would obviously be awful, but spending your time dancing and especially playing peekaboo with yourself? I'm pretty sure that's not the best defense for Manning.

The news about diabetes is hardly news.

  2. Could Marvel please let the public vote on which actor to cast as Star-Lord? I will totally use vacation time and take a whole week off of work and do nothing but vote for Lee Pace all week long if I could. I love him.

  3. 15 House Republicans voted for DADT repeal.....but only one has signed on as a co-sponsor for the bill to repeal DOMA.

So there you have it--the effect of Far Left gay activists having done everything they can to alienate even moderate Republicans and gay Republicans--total polarization--which will make it virtually impossible to pass any gay rights legislation for the forseeable future.

Gay people will be totally ghettoized in one party, which will be able to take them for granted, while the other party ignores them since it has nothing to gain by supporting them, given their absolute hostility to even its most moderate and supportive members.

Congratulations on your colossal stupidity and the consequences that will flow from it.

  4. Regarding Alex Morse - that is why you do not elect 23-year olds to the office of Mayor. Most politicans flip-flop but few are so stupid about it.

  5. "Gay people will be totally ghettoized in one party..."

Yep, looks like the winning party for a while.

  6. "Yep, looks like the winning party for a while."

No, it is the party that is in the minority in the House of Representatives by a nearly 40-vote margin and a party that has no real chance of ever achieving a filibuster-proof 60-40 majority in the Senate......which, as I said, pretty much ensures that no gay rights legislation--including DOMA repeal--is likely to pass again in our lifetimes since moderate Republicans no longer see any reason to cooperate, having been alienated by the absolute partisanship and extremism of the gay activist community.....and the understanding that their reward for offering their support will be that those same activists will do all they can to prevent their re-election ....

The results of this stupidity will become apparent in time.....and the complete lack of support among Republicans for DOMA repeal is just the first tangible demonstration of that.

  7. Rick,

Harry Reid (the sexy Mormon devil) has plans about what to do about the filibuster rules.

As far as civil rights for Gay people? Those issues will be decided by the courts. The executive branch decides who sits on federal benches. And we know which party will have the executive for the next 4 years, and, hopefully, a lady named Clinton for the next 4 hears after that.

Yep, Gays should stay Democrats...for now.

  8. Hmmm. . . Carrie Underwood as Maria Von Trapp? Well, I suppose they could do much worse. At least it's not Lindsey Lohan, so there's little need to take out insurance against Underwood getting arrested while filming. And we know the girl can sing. "The Sound of Music" is produced at local theaters all over the country, so it's not like no one's ever seen SOMEONE ELSE be Maria. And no one can match Julie Andrews's Maria anyway.

  9. "having been alienated by the absolute partisanship and extremism of the gay activist community"

You say that as if this happened in a vacuum.

  10. OK smartass gay guys who think no wrong can be done by activists, what do you have to say to RICK'S assertions above?
