Pastor John Hagee: Gays are Destroying America's 'Purity' -VIDEO

Pastor and televangelist John Hagee is still spouting off his anti-gay rhetoric.

At a recent sermon, Hagee declared that gays are defiling America's "purity", Right Wing Watch reports:

“America does not have purity when men marry men and women marry women, it does not have purity.”

Hagee, you may recall, gave a sermon in 1990 that says Hitler acted on God's behalf in "hunting" the Jews so that they might establish Israel, and has made disparaging remarks about Catholics (for which he apologized) and has also said that gay sin was responsible for Hurricane Katrina. John McCain was forced to cut ties with Hagee during the 2008 election. Last year Hagee warned that DOMA repeal would lead to polygamy.

  1. This nicely coincides with psychological research indicating that conservatives have a 'disgust' reaction much stronger than non-conservatives. They can't get over their repulsions and let thing slide. ie. they cannot be a 'live and let live' person. Not sure if there's and antidote to this condition except perhaps the drip-drip of real world experience.

  2. Probably the most repulsive of all the evangelical effluvia on TV. He is just as mean, petty and vindictive as he sounds, too.

  3. I would not be surprised if one day he gets up and says "It's a man's obligation to stick his boneration in a woman's separation, this sort of penetration will increase the population of the younger generation."

  5. You know who else was concerned about purity and hated gays?

  6. ANON - "the drip drip of real world experience." Brilliant... I'll be using that phrase.

  7. If we want to talk about "purity", then we should see that the U.S.A. has been losing it beginning more than 200 years ago by exterminating the Amerindians.

  9. I actually saw this guy talking with a nutrition "expert" on one of his shows about healthy eating habits. I kept waiting for him to admit that he should start following those ideas, but he never did. Neither one of them ever mentioned the elephant in the room.

  11. @Anon & Stefan: ROFLMAO

I'm reminded about a pollster's remarks about reactions to bad polling numbers: conservatives blame others, liberals blame themselves.

  12. Would that be the "purity" that intentionally infected Native Americans with smallpox and syphilis, shot many babies and women dead, and took all their land? Or the "purity" that owned black slaves?

  13. "Purity" is a big thing for conservatives, while being almost off the radar of most liberals. Hagee, like most propagandists, refuses to define terms by, for example, telling followers that the buybull is talking about "ritual purity" (the cleanliness needed to come before god in worship), which has nothing to do with a secular state. So, let's add to Hagee's immorality this example of lying by omission of facts and deceptive implications (the implication that America is a "christian nation").
