Ryan Gosling Busted

For Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive follow-up, Only God Forgives.

Writes Collider:

Gosling stars as a man who’s been living in exile in Bangkok for the past ten years after killing a cop. He manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation and finds himself in hot water after his brother is killed for murdering a prostitute. The boys’ mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) arrives in Bangkok to collect her son’s body and instructs Gosling to take revenge and “raise hell.”  Apparently, Mama’s no too concerned about her boy’s good looks.  In addition to showing off this image, The Film Stage reports that the M83 song “Sister” was played as part of a promo trailer, and that the movie is on track for a 2013 release.

Does anyone else find that, when you first arrive here at the site, the site hangs upon trying to load something from logger.krxd.net (bottom left corner of browser, you can see what it’s loading.) Adds like 30 seconds to the page load time.

@Randal. Check out Ghostery. This site is unusable without it. There are 28 scripts that load with Towleroad’s webpages. 28! No other site has anywhere near this many.

Unruly, thanks for suggesting that extension. I just added it… I got 53 scripts listed by the time Towleroad finished loading!

Turned them all off; pages are loading so much faster!

Am I the only one who thought that Drive was hyper-violent, overly-stylized, pretentious drivel? It was trying to be something it wasn’t. I don’t understand people praising the visual aesthetic of the film. I just found nothing impressive about it. I’m all for innovative and original filmmaking. But this is one “auteur” whose films do absolutely nothing for me.
