Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs: PHOTO

Here's the first promo photo from Jobs, Joshua Michael Stern's biopic of the Apple co-founder. The film has been announced as the closer for the Sundance Film Festival.

The movie reportedly focuses on Jobs' early years at Apple from the early 70's to around 2000. It also stars Dermot Mulroney, Matthew Modine, and James Woods.

  1. I'm so over Ashton Kutcher. What a poor choice to play this part.

Can we please have a rest from the Ashton Kutcher take over of the world ?

  5. Um, he can't act. Seriously. Name one thing in which he has convincingly played anything other than goofy or manic. Maybe he's typecast, but I'm guessing there's a reason for that. As fun as Steve Jobs seems, he was not goofy or manic. A '70s haircut and wardrobe does not make Ashton Kutcher into Steve Jobs.

  6. I'd watch this just to see the story of Apple/Steve Jobs in it's earlier days. I'll reserve judgement for the Kutcher casting until after I see the film.

  7. Regardless of it being good or bad this movie will be huge.

  8. However the final product will turn out to be, I am sorry to say that this picture promo looks more like "Steve Jobs - the 70s porno star".

Steve Jobs never looked sexier, or gave us a dirtier look. May he rest in peace.

  9. I just don't understand how Kutcher keeps getting good acting gigs. He is a horrible actor. There are so many talented out of work actors who have paid their dues and deserve a chance. Kutcher stumbled into acting by accident from modeling gigs - he got lucky.

  10. I remain an Apple employee handling mostly tech support for corporations. I came to Apple after meeting Jobs soon after IBM cut me lose as their OS2Guy and dropped OS/2 altogether. He was gracious, kind, enthusiastic and very hard to resist.

I can't stand Kutcher and think the producers who selected him to play Steve are doing Steve a horrible injustice. Despite all the negative things you read about Jobs I never found them to have credence. Steve never forgot me, was very supportive of my marriage and jokingly chastised me for not inviting him to the wedding. I have a personal photo of him maybe two weeks before he died and he was but a skeleton of a man and certainly not that guy who shook my hand tightly and said "Come to Apple. You won't regret it..." Even though I don't need to work at Apple and only do so now part-time, I just can't give up the job entirely.

Again - I have no desire to see Kutcher trying to portray one of America's most amazing people.
