Focus on the Family's James Dobson Blames Sandy Hook Shooting on Gay Marriage, Abortion

Joining, AFA radio host Bryan Fischer and Mike Huckabee, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson blamed the absence of religion in school for the tragic shooting in Sandy Hook, Right Wing Watch reports.

DobsonAnd Gay marriage and abortion are to blame as well:

Our country really does seem in complete disarray. I'm not talking politically, I'm not talking about the result of the November sixth election;  I am saying that something has gone wrong in America and that we have turned our back on God.

I mean millions of people have decided that God doesn't exist, or he's irrelevant to me and we have killed fifty-four million babies and the institution of marriage is right on the verge of a complete redefinition.  Believe me, that is going to have consequences too.

And a lot of these things are happening around us, and somebody is going to get mad at me for saying what I am about to say right now, but I am going to give you my honest opinion: I think we have turned our back on the Scripture and on God Almighty and I think he has allowed judgment to fall upon us.  I think that's what's going on.

  2. This is the 180 degree defense again. Religion is one of the most disruptive, divisive, and diabolical institutions around and it causes more deaths through murder because of demonizing people like this monster. Yes, he's a monster not unlike Hitler, the Ugandan Parliament, the Taliban or Al Qaeda and his/their propagandistic maneuvering.

  3. Well I for one am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that notorious f*ckhead and all around piece of sh*t James Dobson is blaming this on the gays!

The good news is that only drooling f*ckwits will agree with him and everyone else is going to roll their eyes. This was about a mentally ill person having access to guns and it's only the usual suspects who are trying to make it about their same old political/religious hobby-horses.

  4. Your god is an evil monster, washed in the blood of innocents. Worshiping it means you are not fit to be a part of civil society.

  6. Who is he preaching to? Even his choir has by and large stopped listening.

Mr. Dobson's remarks are the most divisive that I have seen or heard with this entire Newtown tragedy.

He thrives only in division and unity terrifies him.

Mr. Dobson needs to get out more and find out that there is a whole world where he has no power.

  8. Translation --> "If public schools don't indoctrinate children with my religion, then I hate to say it, but slaughtering those children is justified."

  9. Way to focus on the family, Jimmy! I don't think an aborted fetus was responsible for the shootings. Typical right-wing evangelist - more worried about the unborn than the ones who are already here.

  10. Just remember he and Tony Perkins come from the same area in Colorado. It must be the altitude.

  11. Nobody cares about ANY of them. Bryan Fischer, Mike Huckabee, and James Dobson are totally irrelevant. Collectively they are about as important and intellegence as the as the three stooges and even less entertaining. I did not think if that was possible!

  12. Hey, A$$hole, it was the religious wars of France and the Crusades and your other stupidities in the name of religion that started all this.

And you now claim that the killing of children is somehow due to secularism - turning your back on god - are you so impenetrably stupid ?

  13. Dobson = Phelps.
    Enough said.

  14. This evil criminal and his ilk are EXACTLY what's wrong with this country today. This asshat is the one turning his back on "God" - whatever form one believes(or not). His fear mongering, bigotry and paranoia feed the lunatics which indirectly leads to unspeakable crimes against humanity. The day the world sees religion take its rightful place (in private!) is the day we all may begin to see the world change into a more peaceful, loving and tolerant place.

  15. There is a long list of shootings that happened in religious schools and churches. Whose fault was that? Clearly, god was present there. Where was your loving yet murderous cloud man then?

Every time something like this happens, there is a parade of a55holes making completely ridiculous and insensitive remarks. I am of the mind that nothing short of an all-out media BAN on coverage of these incidents will do anything to stop them from happening.

Rabble rabble god's wrath! Rabble rabble violent movies and video games!! Rabble rabble GUN CONTROL! The media is to blame for hyping this crap up and perpetuating it. NO ONE else.

  16. I'd probably have one hundredth of one percent more respect for Focus on the Family founder James Dobson's word if he didn't have a DONATE button on his website.

  17. Yadda Yadda Yadda-this is the old " Trouble Right Here In River City .." scenario-and because you have trouble trouble right here -you need -yep Professor Harold Hill -a scam artist -enuf said

  18. Well, as I see it if there was more gay marriages and abortions, there would be far less children hopefully to the point of there being none, and then this tragedy would have been completely avoidable. If Dobson wants to talk extremes. At least my scenario has discernible causation.

  19. I believe in the separation of Church and Money.

That would certainly put an end to *professional* hate-mongers like this saggy toolbag.

  20. Are those gay porn DVDs on the shelves behind him?

    Posted by: Oliver | Dec 17, 2012 3:53:24 PM

  21. I cannot put myself inside the mind of someone so twisted that they think "God" would allow the slaughter of innocent children because he wasn't worshiped properly in American schools.

And how does he reconcile that with the fact that every other first world, secular democracy manages to avoid both prayer in school AND mass gun slaughters?

The religionist remain our greatest stumbling block to evolving as a society.

  22. I'm not religious and I don't believe in gods or prophets, but I was raised Baptist and I know one thing about their Christ. He is supposed to be a healer and bring a message of comfort and compassion. The Christian message is not found in division and judgment. Any Christian faith leaders promoting that are selling snake oil. Fortunately, they become more transparent and less powerful over time. This guy would be laughable if he weren't so pathetic as a thinker and a leader of diseased sheep.

  23. All I have to say to these idiots is if you really believe what you are saying then take a look north of your border. Canada has had gay marriage for years, we don't pray in school, we have universal health care and we are generally considered to be a very gay friendly country. Why is it that the same problems aren't happening here or any other countries with similar thinking?

I don't care that people have their own stupidstitions...but why are these people given ANY KIND OF A PLATFORM?
