  2. Nice. I could never get used to seeing the empty space in the skyline left by the 9/11. The new WTC is looking good to me.

  3. The original WTC was the most architecturely ugly set of buildings ever constructed. They became iconic and eventually an emplem of the city, but they were basically tall boxes of no character and they were on a scale incompatible with the rest of the city. I'm sorry for how they were destroyed, but so glad they are gone. The new WTC is a much better replacement. Just as tall, but not out of scale with everything else, and -though hardly avant garde - is at least slightly interesting architecture. I hope it's finished soon ... and that some tenants will want to rent in a building with a giant target painted on it.

    I have to totally agree with you re the old Towers; but the New Tower is just beautiful and already an icon.
