'World Is Gone Mad,' Says Fantasia Barrino About Gay Nups, Weed

Fantasia Barrino, the singer made famous by winning the third season of American Idol, took to Instagram to tell the world that she is completely confused as to why marriage equality and weed are legal in some places yet she's still being "judged".

Judged by whom? An invisible jury? Ghosts of American Idol contestants past? Some omniscient being that goes like only one name? Cher?! Who knows?! But Fantasia is certain she's being judged and she doesn't like it at all. She thinks that judgmental shade should be thrown at the people legally getting married and legally smoking dope.

Yes, life is full of mysteries and Instagram is full of deep thoughts; just not on Fantasia Barrino's feed.

  1. @randy , could it be possible that she is just an angry person? Funny everytime a story about a black person on this site the KKK come screaming out.

  2. She has just ended her run as the queen of black gay prides. She is always in Atlanta performing. Now try to pay those bills without the only group of people who are still buying your unintersting music.

  3. I don't know this person; I've never heard of her, and I have no idea what she is trying to say, but if I were to judge her it would be on her inability to create a post in English. What country is she from? Word-order and construction suggests she might be Finnish. In any event, if she wishes to communicate in English, she needs a coach.

  5. Wasn't she on Broadway, or trying to get on Broadway for a while?

Yeah, good luck getting anywhere near Broadway after this rant, you out-of-wedlock baby-having home-wrecking "good Christian".

And @RANDY, we're at the dawn of 2013 here in America, time for you to understand that gender, skin color, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, cultural background and professional background, HAVE NOTHING TO DO with being an a**hole.

As you are proof enough, that a-holes are just a-holes.

  6. @Randy It was important enough for you to read, click and comment twice. Hmmmm.

  7. She is judged because she had an affair with a married man, became pregnant and then fake a suicide attempt.
I don't dislike her music, but she is totally crazy and not in a good way.

She must learn a thing or two of Jennifer Hudson, she didn't want her season of AI (even when she was far more talented) but she knows how to deal with her career, and she is able to give interviews without put her foot in her mouth

Unfortunately, she is not very smart, because a good part from her fanbase is gay, so not a smart move at all

  8. Wasn't she on RuPaul drag race? I guesss naively thought anyone who would appear on that show would be gay friendly.

  9. Was that English?

  10. What a way to kill your career stupid!

  11. The only time I've ever heard of her in the last year has been as a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. She needs to check herself.

  12. She seems genuinely paranoid. Honey, if you count internet trolls as people "judging" you, you'll be suicidal in a week. She hasn't even been in the news, so I don't see how she's being judged. And I don't care what anyone says, comparing marriage between two consenting, unattached adults to what she did is an insult to every gay married couple. She needs to have a seat, and stay there for a while.

  13. i think yall misunderstanding what shes saying shes saying yall judging her for going with a married man but its ok to legal weed and gay marriage and i dont think she mean any bad on the gays she loves the gays she even did gay pride

  14. Anytime someone wants to appear on Piers Morgan or The View they say something like this....... She's looking for an invite to an interview..... OH, & girl- your 15 minutes was up & you did nothing to extend the time....... bye bye.....

    Posted by: Tab | Dec 31, 2012 1:16:50 PM

  15. Yes Ras, i don't think her intention was trash gay marriage, but when you notice that you are being misunderstood, the best think you can do is explain yourself, and she did a really bad job doing it.

I don't think she is an homophobe (there were a bunch of AI contestants that fit that cathegory) but she doesn't seem smart enough to deal with twitter

  16. Isn't she a woman who had an affair with a married man ? Isn't that why she is being judged ?

    Posted by: rjp3 | Dec 31, 2012 1:32:48 PM

  17. She should consider herself lucky to be judged. Most just don't care the day after she won AI.

    Posted by: bambinoitaliano | Dec 31, 2012 1:44:42 PM

  18. you mean how she was judged for being a single mother who had a child out of wedlock?

you'd think that would have opened her eyes to ridiculous "religious" bigotry.

i'm stunned how this young woman could have played the lesbian female lead in The Color Purple and yet have not learned anything from the experience....

  19. irrelevant

  20. She needs to start taking her medication again, so the voices in her head quiet down. :-)

  21. Obvious Attention Whore is obvious. Some people will do anything to sell a few more copies of their latest flop.

    Posted by: FuryOfFirestorm | Dec 31, 2012 2:34:12 PM

  22. I was angry at first but I realized she wasn't bashing gay marriage. She just expressed herself in a very unclear way.

She's actually bashing religious people. Read it again from that point of view and you will realize what she is saying is that those people are getting mad at her (she who isn't doing anything wrong) while other things they consider terrible abominations are taking place in the world. She's telling them she's not living for them, it's her life.

She effed up by not being clear about who she was addressing, and frankly her point is a little murky. If you truly want to support your gay fans, this isn't exactly the best way to do it...

  23. To be fair, she has a very decent career, she is no Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson, but she does quite well on Urban charts and her album sales are good.

She is talented, unfortunately her life is a mess, and she is not smart enough to know when is better to keep her mouth shut

    Posted by: jjose712 | Dec 31, 2012 2:47:59 PM

  24. Since she has decided to judge GLBTQ people by a literalist interpretation of the Bible, then it is fair and right to judge her by the same standard:

9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.

11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

    I Timothy 2.

There is hardly anything modest about the way she is dressed in that photo.

  25. absolute BS from the apologists on this board. She speaks with a forked tongue (accepts $$$ from gay folk but surely slams them in front of her anti-gay, "religious" friends). Her throwing gay rights under the bus to deflect from her clear biblical transgressions -- chronic premarital sex, having babies out of wedlock, adultery, suicide attempt, lying and more -- is clear. Stone the b8tch....just like the bible says.
