Counterprotest Planned Against Westboro Baptist Church Picket in NYC Today

The Westboro Baptist Church is planning a protest in Times Square today, according to its website:

PhelpsNew York City is the epicenter of international commerce. These people care more about the almighty dollar than the Almighty God. New York also represents fag central. Millions of fags and their enablers proudly promote their filth in and around Times Square. WBC will shed some Gospel light on that mess, to wit:

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Luke 17:26-30

If you would like to join the counterprotest at 4 pm today, you can do so here.

  1. WBC is using old information. Times Square hasn't had any good fag filth in almost 2 decades...the closing of the Gaeity was the final nail in that coffin.

  2. Noe? Never seen that aside from part of San Francisco.

I'm sure they'll have a huge turnout for their protest in fag central. What exactly are they protesting?

  3. Sooo the only reason they do this stuff is for attention. Don't give it to them.

  5. I think their in town to catch a showing of The Book of Mormon. Their cover story doesn't fool me!

  6. You know what pisses me off about Fred Phelps? He uses "epicenter" without knowing what it means, that's what.

Oddly, "Noe" is the Catholic bible spelling.

  8. I'm sure this isn't the intended reaction, but that little snippet from their website nearly made me spit out my coffee laughing.
My favorite part: "New York ALSO represents *** central." HAAAAHAHAhaaaaa...I'm sorry. It just reads like something from The Onion.

  9. A handful of sad bigots in Times Square won't get any attention. Don't give them the pleasure of a counterprotest.

  10. Actually, I like it when the counter protest is used as a fundraiser for a local GLBT-friendly charity. WBC is a great fundraising tool...assuming they even bother to show up.

  11. It's time those filthy New Yorker sodomites learned about how their dirty debaucherous filth is putting them on a one-way path to damnation! Of course, they'll ignore and scoff at the Westboro Baptist Church at their own peril. Well, at least the Westboro Baptist Church fulfilled their divinely ordained mandate of spreading the Lord's message to the sinful masses to save at least some of them from the impending Fire!

  12. The key words with most anti-gay groups are “tax exempt”. If all the money made by groups like this were TAXED, they would fine a real job. I just do not think gay life is that big a deal for most people? Most of us have a hard time worrying about our own life. For anti-gay groups it is all about the money. But if you DO spend every day of your life worrying about “the gays”, you may just want to talk to someone.
