Mariah Carey Goes Over the Rainbow with 'Almost Home': VIDEO

Carey

If you feel like getting swept away in the new clip for the Mariah Carey Oz anthem "Almost Home", here you go. The video was directed by David LaChapelle. Stargate co-produced the track.

Carey has a new album coming out in May in which she's collaborating with Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, and Rodney Jerkins.

  1. Hmmmm. Some of the movie clips in the video look interesting while others make it look like a CGI-heavy mess.

I don't know why no one has done a straight-forward adaptation of Gregory Maguire's "Wicked" instead of the (IMO) terrible musical based on it.

  6. Mariah never looked classier and more beautiful. She should have Mr Lachappelle do all her vids… good styling never misses.

  7. i thought the song was kinda nice, not too sure about the video, i feel like she should have been more restrained in her movements and stayed in the chair for the most part, or at least not look like she was flirting with the camera

  8. Cute song. Definitely better than what she's been putting out there as of late. I haven't heard anything of hers since that Emancipation album and I have to ask...when did she begin needing so much autotune???

  9. Mariah looks good. Thats for sure. I have to say while the song is okay, I didnt recognise Mariah's voice at all. It could have been anyone for a good half of the song. Might as well have been Rihanna. Still, maybe it will grow on me.

  10. God - turn the fan off. Her voice - was that Mariah or one of this people she like on AI? I think she is overdone and I wouldn't buy the song.

  11. Finally Mariah has dropped faux-gangsta posturing and come up with a straight up pop song. Its not great but better than most of the things she's put out in years.

  12. love mimi. though here, her voice sounds heavy, and the production didn't seem to suit her-too cluttered. autotune? unnecessary. and the lyric 'home' was artistically neglected here. fly, butterfly, fly!

i'd like to hear this re-imagined by chaka kahn.
