Ronald Reagan's Son Demands Churches Fight Back Against Gay Marriage: 'Where's the Moral Outrage?'

Michael Reagan, the former President's son, is upset about the recent shift in support for marriage equality:

ReaganFox TV, Rush Limbaugh and other talk-show pundits have weighed in, arguing the conservative — and moral — position that sanctifying gay marriage with the grace of the U.S. Constitution is not only wrong but a serious threat to the culture of this country.

But those media outlets often speak to those who are already in the choir. That leaves a lot of other Americans who aren’t hearing anyone preaching the conservative argument on gay marriage.

I don’t expect the GOP to provide any leadership. Republicans are too busy cat-fighting with each other and making sure their presidential choice will be whooped by Hillary Clinton in 2016.

And where in the heck are the churches on the issue of legalizing gay marriage?

Where are the Protestants, Jews and Catholics? Have they lost their tongues? Their hearts and wills? Their institutional you-know-whats?

Where’s the moral outrage? Why aren’t thousands of our pastors, priests and rabbis shouting from their pulpits? Why aren’t they leading their congregations through the streets in mass protest?

  1. Still trying to cash in on his adopted father's name. It is really rather sad.

  2. Reagan has a legacy so distorted by the Conservative idolization of him that we may never have a clear picture of the real man behind the television set beyond the elaborate myth now concocted around him. Did he really rid the world of commie scum? Did destroy or save our economy? Check out my portrait of The Gipper and help me figure it out on my artist’s blog at with some Cold War Hollywood!

  3. As Christians we need to all be down on our knees praying for our country. It is slowly but surely sliding down the slippery slope into the slimy sewers.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people-none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NLT)

    1 Timothy 1:8-10
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine ... (ESV)

    Jude 7
And don't forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God's judgment. (NIV)

  4. So Rosie, You're perfect? You are ready to be judged? No? Good. Then zip the pie hole. Sweetie, YOU are committing a MORTAL SIN by passing judgement upon others...didn't you learn that while thumping that Bible? Oh wait, you can't read it if you are too busy thumping it. Try reading it. You may find yourself actually living a Christian life, and thinking Christian thoughts, unlike your actions in your post above. You forget, as many "Christians" do, that Jesus is about love. That is all. He is about love, not hate. If you want to be a real, true Christian (which isn't easy!), then you have to rid your heart of hate. If your post above is any indication, your heart is so full of hate, there is no possible way for Jesus Christ to enter your heart. For the very sake of your soul, I suggest you focus more on yourself, your issues, and your hatred, before it is too late. With the amount of hate in your heart, you are doomed to burn in Hell for eternity. Please heed this advice, as I wouldn't want something like that to happen to a nice Christian like you! You have a lot of work ahead of you, Rosie...I wish you all the best.

  7. Any gays and lesbians who have not yet left that thing called religion? Pay attention. This is what it is all about. That god of love (that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, flooded the earth, etc.) – this is what it is. They do not want you. SCREW EM! That crazy belief of a man in the sky gets crazier every day when these freaks show us who they are.

  9. Michael Reagan is Ronald Reagan's adopted son, not his natural son. Michael Reagan has also had, um, "issues" with drugs and with gay men in his past but we'll save that for another day.

  11. Clayton, We need to hear it from the pulpits. Most people are too busy to listen to Catholic Radio. And the general media is so out of line with Catholic teaching one can get misled listening.
