Bryan Fischer: Mormons Supported Lifting Boy Scouts Gay Ban Because They Want Polygamy - VIDEO

Mormon_fischer

Even though he has "no evidence that this is the case," American Family Association radio host Bryan Fischer has figured out why the Mormon church ended up supporting the 'Boy Sodomizers of America' decision to lift the ban on gay scouts, Right Wing Watch reports, and it fits neatly into the longtime right-wing talking points that gay marriage will lead to polygamy.

Says Fischer:

"The LDS leadership, these people are smart, they're sharp, they're thinking all the time and I believe one of the reasons they may have gone soft on the homosexual agenda is that they believe that the homosexual agenda may be the secret to restoring polygamy to America and this would vindicate Mormon doctrine from the very beginning."

  2. Cool! Now the Mormons can hate his guts, too.

  3. Oh, those crazy Mormons, all the men folk think about are wives, wives and more wives while the women folk think - what the Hell - I have to share my husband with multiple wives? (I guess it depends on what kind of husband a wife ends up with there in Mormonland). Thanks, Bryan, for letting us into your newest daily Christianist nightmare. Ain't it amazing just how evil and anti-Christian the BSA has become?!

  4. Oh those tricky Mormons! Resident AFC "genius" Fischer knows what's what. What do you bet that Ol' Brian voted for Romney last November.

  5. Excuse Me! But didn't the Mormons BRING Polygamy to the USA in the 1840's and wasn't that why many were driven out and at worse Murdered??? I doubt sincerely that is anyone's purpose... Don't these radical right wingers ever study American History... for Jeebus sake....

  6. Inherently that is the problem with home schooling and reading only one text book (the bible)!!!!

  8. I used to hate hearing anything from the mouth of Fischer but he's so utterly crazed now with his contempt for The Gays that even the Talibangelists are turning from him and,
methinks he doth protest too much. What normal, well-adjusted straight man thinks about gay butt sex as much as him? Oh. There. I've answered my own question.

  9. It's gratifying that the homophobes are attacking each other, but we should stop hanging on their every utterance.

  10. What? The bloom is off the rose in the 'Vangelical/Mormon romance? Or should I say - the stem is off the rose ...

  11. I wonder if Bry Bry thinks he can scare Mormons out of support for Gay Rights by raising the specter of polygamy or if it just goes to show that Christians don't really trust Mormons after all. Either way it's fun to watch.

  13. Someone should make a day of the week calendar with crazy Fischer quotes. Then donate the proceeds to a gay charity.

  14. The torture chamber of this mans mind.

Can't get anything by him. He sat himself down and figured it all out. We evil gays have been secretly living under persecution from the Mormons for all this time so that we could help them bring back polygamy and they'd vote for gay Scouts.

You're just too sharp for us Bryan.

  15. The reality is, 'Freedom of Religion' - the constant refrain of people like Bryan - is a more likely route for polygamists.

  16. A BF quote of the day calendar would be a best seller in gay gift shops I'm pretty sure.

He might be right, the Mormon church would love to bring back big love to the US, and the BSA might just be the vehicle to do it. Not gay marriage, which they oppose, but the boy scouts that they are already a major sponsor of.

  17. The other funny thing about Fischer's spiel is his use of the phrase "next domino to fall." The so called "Domino Theory" was a discredited reason for the Vietnam war, where they claimed that if South Vietnam became communist, all the others in the region would follow. Strangely, decades after the end of that conflict, with South Vietnam and North Vietman merging under a communist government, the "dominoes" did not fall. Otherwise the hard drives that are manufactured in Thailand would have hammers and sickle logos on them.

  18. Sure doesn't take much to get the pack of rabid anti-gay dogs to rip each other up. You know the anti-gay hate mob is doomed when they can't act out their hate on us and instead act it out on themselves.

  19. LOLz! Maybe 150 years ago that logic would have flown, but not now. Mormons want nothing to do with polygamy now, it is the great albatross they hate carrying around their neck.

  25. "Someone should make a day of the week calendar with crazy Fischer quotes. Then donate the proceeds to a gay charity."

But MichaelandFred, there are only 365 days in a year - while Mr. Fischer's capacity to deliver humdingers is almost limitless. Selecting the 365 zaniest quotes would be too difficult!
