A Helicopter Ride Around the Top of One World Trade Center: VIDEO

The new One World Trade Center was set to become the tallest building in the western hemisphere on Monday, but winds postponed the lifting of the final sections to its spire.

No new date has been set, but you can take a helicopter ride around it in this recently uploaded YouTube clip.

  3. Looking forward to the observatory opening in 2015. I spent many a lunch hour at the old World Trade Center observatory. It's actually a little "too" high - seems like, as this, you're flying in a aircraft instead of on a rooftop - which is trippy in its own right.

Horrific how the old WTC went away - but those were seriously ugly buildings and this one is far more architecturally attractive.

  4. Yeah, I feel guilty about saying that this is a much more beautiful building.

It looks so ultra modern and is a fitting confident replacement.

  8. It's so beautiful you have to edit comments about it. Reflective glass is an architectural wonder. (circa 1970's)
