1925 Hand-Drawn Map of Greenwich Village

Here's a very cool hand-drawn map of Greenwich Village from 1925. Many of the area's most famous landmarks have yet to appear. It would be 42 years before The Stonewall Inn arrived.

I try not to be one of those people who complains about what gets posted on this blog (after all, it’s Andy’s) but all of the “Isn’t info about NYC interesting to the ENTIRE WORLD?” stuff gets old.

Cool names: Pieces used to be called the Pirates Den – makes me wanna open a bar. “The Little Shop Around the Corner” proves that Christopher Street was gay in 1925. What a blast. Old New York is where anything interesting in the rest of the country started.
