  1. Everyone knows it's a choice. Why do they always have to shove their choice down our throat?

    I'm talking about religion...

  2. She DESTROYED them? Sounds like you're reporting a murder. Maybe "DENOUNCED" or "REFUTED" would be a better choice of words.

  3. LOVE Samantha, and LOVE the Daily Show. Hilarious.

  4. No, "destroyed" is the better choice of words. Great segment.

  5. This was quite funny. I love how she does her voice when she says, "Are you sure about that?"

  6. This was worth watching just for the scene where she was walking down the street "protecting" him.

  9. OH this made me laugh .... hilarious and a perfect way to shine more light on these poor victims, opening with Huckabee - Fischer.

  10. I'm amazed that he had to admit that she was right. "Well, when you put it that way, it does sound rather arrogant and myopic, narrow-minded, and bigoted."
"Good! Then I've done my job."

Brilliant job, Amanda! And here's hoping that maybe she actually did get him to open his mind a little.

  11. Funny (and meaningful) stuff.

You know what? I don't really *care* if someone believes that "traditional marriage" is better, that same-sex unions are somehow less than hetero ones. (Opinions being like @ssholes and all....)

In fact I have opinions about various couples and marriages. I believe that Gingrich's 3rd marriage to his former mistress is lesser than the unions of some gay couples of many decades that I know. Same goes with Trump and his latest trophy bimbo and similar "holy unions."

The problem isn't the sentiment that Traditional Marriage is better. The problem is actively trying to deny other people their legal rights based on that belief, and THAT'S where we run into trouble and you can bet your @ss I'm going to protest against them for that.

  12. I'm amazed that people allow themselves to be interviewed on these segments. Sam B. made that preacher look like an absolute idiot. Surely he is aware of The Daily Show and how they portray conservatives. Very glad they agree to it, though, as it is very entertaining. :o)

  13. @AriesMatt beat me to it. I have the same puzzlement over why conservatives allow themselves to be interviewed for this particular segment of The Daily Show?! Don't they know they are going to make fun of them? Obviously, it is highly edited, but I would think that, at some point, it would dawn on them that they are the butt of the joke and would walk out.

  14. Can she Samantha Bee get Emmyd already? She's consistently funny and good.

  15. I think the reason why bigots and conservatives agree to be interviewed for the Daily Show is that their arrogance leads them to believe that they'll be the ones who are smart enough to beat the heathen liberals on the show. And I want them to keep trying, and trying, and trying ...

  16. well, exactly. enough of them hear the Sarah Palin's of the world criticize the "lamestream" media, and are stupid enough to think that it means that they can go on, spout their stupid buzz terms, and hold their own.

they dont' realize the Palins of the world call it the "lamestream media" as an excuse to not be a part of it, because they always end up getting utterly PWNed.

  17. wait...but those were just actors, no?

    Posted by: Joe | Jun 18, 2013 1:18:27 PM

  18. @ernstroehm's ghost: No, she DESTROYED them, as difficult as it is for your trolly, little, whiny-con brain to accept. Utterly DESTROYED.

  19. The point is that people like this guy are not crusaders or values-guardians. They've fundraisers who profit from the self-perpetuated Christian Victimization Cycle.

He's not worried about losing rights.

He's terrified of not getting that check.

  20. Met in a gym jacuzzi and went dancing together? Was that for real?

    Posted by: anon | Jun 18, 2013 1:40:55 PM

  21. Uh...hello peeps, those were ACTORS! And no, none of the real bigots would actually do an interview like this.

    That said, it was awesome!

    Posted by: Scotty | Jun 18, 2013 3:05:56 PM

  22. No, those are real people, not actors.

Google "Matt Slick" and you'll find his website. "President and Founder of the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry. Matt earned his Bachelors in Social Science from Concordia University, Irvine, CA in 1988."

Also the young gay Christian "Todd Clayton is a student at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York."

    Posted by: Neil | Jun 18, 2013 5:07:24 PM

  23. They're not actors. They are publicity wh*res who allow themselves to be made fun of for the exposure. Who ever would have heard of this jackass "Christian" radio host? Now people are googling him. It's an old P.R. maxim: there's no such thing as bad press.

  24. Samantha Bee is a godess!

Organized religion is a scourge on this planet and any time we can send it up, the better.

While this is funny, I find organized religion to be frightening. There is nothing more frightening to me than a straight man or woman who believes in sky people or the myth that is jezeus. Worse yet are gay people who buy into the lie that is kristianity.

  25. @Scotty: Real bigots appear on the Daily Show all the time, each apparently having a big enough ego or small enough brain to think they'll not be skewered and roasted like the previous bigots. Or, perhaps more likely, they're so blinded by their own bigotry that they actually believe they're rational human beings.
