Ashton Kutcher Channels Apple Founder Steve Jobs in New Biopic: VIDEO

Here's the new trailer for jOBS, the upcoming biopic about the late Apple founder.

Yahoo! writes:

If the trailer is any indication, "Jobs" is a particularly abbreviated and fractured biopic; indeed, ten years go by in about a second and a half of screen time as Jobs is back at Apple seemingly right after he got kicked out of it. This impression is certainly in sync with the first round of reviews that came out of this year's Sundance Film Festival, the general consensus being that "Jobs" is a reasonably entertaining but ultimately too simplistic a portrait of a very complex man to truly resonate, a movie that "can't get a handle on how to portray its subject," according to IndieWire.

  1. Oh, oh. He looks the part but doesn't sound anything like Steve Jobs, especially the angry, wound-up, snarky Steve Jobs. The inner attitude is missing.

I don't know why but Ashton seems way gayer than he usually does. (not that that's a bad thing, just not Steve-like)

  2. I can't believe people are actually interested in seeing a movie about Steve Jobs.

  3. It'll play to packed houses in the Bay Area. And nowhere else.

  8. Just in reference to the Yahoo review of the TRAILER. When has any trailer, ever been indicative of the actual timeline of a movie? That just seems like a spectacularly stupid thing to say. It's like saying, in Harry Potter it looks like he flies his broom in the beginning of the trailer when he didn't learn that till the end of the book!

  9. @Chris, pretty sure they were referring to the reviews at Cannes (or some festival) and not just from viewing the trailer.

I may be in the minority, but I'm a fan of Kutcher and hope that this movie will quiet the naysayers.

  10. This is simple to tell. Jobs was a pr*ck and egotistical, narcissistic ahole who was notoriously 'difficult'. Apple has become iconic due to it's marketing, legal maneuvering, and undoubtedly accounting practices. Truth is Apple products are over-priced and nothing particularly special. But they have cache among a certain demographics, even the general public as a whole. They're an important status symbol.

  11. Judging by Kutcher's past work, I think Kutcher will just play himself rather than playing Jobs
