Big Freedia Plans World-Record Twerking Attempt and Your Butt Can Be a Part of It: VIDEO

New Orleans Bounce queen Big Freedia plans to lead an attempt to get in the Guinness Book of World Records for most people twerking simultaneously in a stunt to promote her upcoming Fuse program Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, which premieres on October 2 and explores the underground world of the New Orleans hip hop scene known as “Bounce.”

The show follows Big Freedia as she preps for her first international tour, deals with her mother’s illness and finds a place in the extremely competitive world of hip hop. The docu-series will also co-star Mr. Ghetto, Sissy Nobby and Katey Red.

If you're interested in being part of the massive twerk, be in Herald Square on Wednesday at 12 pm.

Take a look at some previews for the show and an interview with Big Freedia,

  1. Is Big Freedia a male or a female? Can't really tell. Just asking and curious.

  2. @David from Canada, not sure if you are joking or not, but if you watch the second video, Freedia explains his transition from Freddy to Freedia. Freedia, from what I can gather, is just his performance persona and he is still a guy, just a very flamboyant one.

  3. Silly, flamboyant queen in need of a life.

  4. The suggestion that Big Freedia doesn't have a rich and fulfilling life is of course absurd lol

  5. This is the kind of thing that makes me want to completely distance myself from the LGBT community!

  6. Please don't associate this trash with the LGBT community.

  7. New Orleans Bounce is so incredibly fun. I don't get the hate?

  8. Daymian,

What kind of uptight gay are you to call Sissy Bounce trash?

Denigrate twerking and expose yourselves as the white racists you are.

  10. I actually saw a preview of the first two episodes. I thought I would hate it. But it is quite entertaining. It is hard to tell whether or not it is real or a well-done mockumentary as the crap that Mr. Ghetto pulls is just cray-cray, yo. But apparently it is factual. Freedia's family is something else, especially his mom. And his managers are dead serious about making him mainstream. Freedia comes off as genuine if not bizarrely endearing. If all else fails, he always has his interior design business to fall back on.

Please distance yourself from the entire gay community

  12. Sounds like he wants to make a difference. What's wrong with that?

  13. Being from New Orleans myself, I'm so proud and happy for big Free. Living in NYC now and people here telling me they went to a big free concert, is just amazing.

  14. I don't get the hate, either. Go watch RuPaul's "Peanut Butter" video for an example of his work. Pretty damned catchy.

  15. Yeah, all you NOLA haters can go shove it. LOVE FREEDIA.
