Sally Kern Weighs in as Oklahoma Tribe Hosts Third Gay Marriage: 'I Find It Kind of Sad' — VIDEO

Kern

The state of Oklahoma saw its third same-sex marriage on Thursday night on native American land when Darren Black Bear, a member of the Arapaho Cheyenne tribe, married his partner of 9 years, Jason Pickel. They were married by Darren's father, who marched in the civil rights marches with MLK Jr.

The ceremonies are sending the state's most well-known bigots into a tizzy.

Lawmaker Sally "gays are worse than terrorists" Kern resurfaced to weigh in:

"I find it kind of sad that this tribe is not willing to recognize what 75 percent of the voters of Oklahoma declared years ago, that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Those of us who are Christians, who believe the Bible, are we going to have to give that up to satisfy the minority group that wants to redefine marriage...They can love whomever they want, there’s no laws right now that prevents two people of the same sex from living together.

  2. Bigots like Kern conveniently forget that the Cheyenne are sovereign, and that, legally, the reservation is a foreign nation. And that it is sovereign because that is how their bigoted ancestors set things up.

  3. What about the many Christian denominations that support, and celebrate, LGBT couples and marriages?

This woman's narrow view of Christianity and how it should be enforced on others would be like the conservative Jewish and Muslim communities getting together to stop gentiles from being allowed to legally eat pork.

  4. Wow, a married gay US citizen will get married benefits from the Netherlands that he won't get from a state of "the Union".

    Nice one, Oklahomo.

  7. "They can love whomever they want, there’s no laws right now that prevents two people of the same sex from living together."

There is no law RIGHT NOW that prevents it? What is that supposed to mean? Does she want to change that?

  8. I find it so sad that they take their religion as a fact instead of just a mutable philosophy. Who can take these people seriously when they can't distinguish reality from some made up crap. Religion is increasingly for the immature and mentally disturbed.

  9. Sally Kern doesn't represent the majority of Christians. If anybody represents Christians on earth it would be the Pope and Pope Francis has made it clear that as Christians we are not to judge people who are gay.

  11. Sally is feeling all kind of emboldened with her Governor standing behind her these days. Now the Governor has joined the list of States who are refusing to comply with Federal Law, in typical Republican Fashion. Their National Guard - who follow orders, at all times, placing their lives on the line if necessary - will NOT have their spouse ID issued in locations other than a Federal facility. Bravery and Bigotry in OK.

  13. What's "sad," Sally, is the "Trail of Tears"... What is "sad" is that you have NO clue as to Native AMERICAN history and customs, particularly where "Two Spirits" are concerned... What is "sad" is that you want to inflict your baptist-ISM on everyone else.

What is "happy" is that, no matter how hard you try, Sally, YOU will come out the LOSER! ;)

  14. She has a point. There are so many better places to get married. It's sad whenever anyone holds a wedding there.

  15. Ms. Kern's myopic blind faith of Bible believing Christians parallels the behavior of resisting evolving societal progress if one inserts head into the quiet solace of an anal cavity.

  16. I think it's kind of sad that Sally Kern is still alive.

I think it's kind of sad that Sally Kern hasn't blown her head off with the gun in her purse.

I think it's sad that Sally Kern is a lawmaker anywhere.

I think it's sad that Sally Kern is considered human.

I think it's sad that Sally Kern...well, I could go on and on!
